I picked one of these up to replace my non-functional Pulse 2, hoping for improved battery life, sound quality, and for the extra feature of being a built-in power bank. So far, I’m very satisfied with the sound of this speaker. Rich bass, clarity, and the sound travels to fill a whole room with amazing acoustics as you increase the volume. Placed in a warehousing or factory environment, however, the sound will be drowned out considerably as you move 10-15 feet away from it. As for JBL boasting the 20-hour life, I haven’t experienced this even at 50% volume, and have yet to see this speaker outlast a 10-hour shift. lol! Maybe if you have it at a whisper, then maybe it would last that long. The plus side is at least you can charge something else up while listening to music. I recommend this speaker for all of its perks, but it’s best used in a small-space setting with very little to no other background noise to truly appreciate the power of this speaker. Two of these paired up would be overkill.

Great quality, nice size, loud enough for me and for my outdoor nature trips; fishing, camping, swimming, boating, tanning… but for it being a JBL I had higher hopes of sound being a bit more intense with the base and music quality. Only reason why I rated a 4. Easy to charge with USB-C in car or at home. Lasts 20 hours played continuously. You will also need the app to update the device once you purchase or it won’t be worth the buy. Be sure you upgrade by downloading the app.

Needed an updated Bluetooth speaker. Chose this one because of it's size, waterproof, and the ability to charge other devices. I was impressed with the sound. Used it paired with a phone for music and a laptop to watch streaming while traveling. Both sound good.

The JBL Chage 5 has really good sound quality, the bass isn’t crazy but it’s a small speaker. You get what u pay for. It’s held up outside frisbee golfing, at work I’ll use it for several hours. Perfect size to keep in your backpack and not take up too much room. Its the perfect on the go speaker.

Not a fan that the usbc on the outside is only for charging the speaker. Besides that the speaker is loud and lasts long.

It is an incredible speaker, it has good sound and spectacular bass. I loved it.

Great sounding speaker! Had a hard time pairing with an older model for party play and the round form factor and cause it to roll around.

I got this over the JBL flip 6 and I am not at all disappointed. JBL Charge 5 definitely is a better deal over the flip 6 if all you care about is the sound. It sounds more detailed and definitely has double the power than the flip series. I only wished the Charge 5 had the google quick pair feature inbuilt. Otherwise a very good buy.

Great product getting them to pair sometimes is difficult, but not too bad. Overall, I would purchase them again without hesitation.

The speakers sound is great however the battery won’t get you 20 hours as it claims. More like 10 hours then it’s time to charge it for2-3 hours.

The JBL charge comes in at an attractive pricepoint, with well balanced sound. It is able to get quite loud without distortion for a speaker of its size. The free JBL application is easy to use, the audio adjustment controls are intuitive and it boasts the capability of linking multiple speakers together for large spaces.

Overall, a very nice speaker. Especially when it was on sale! Have not tried the charging port of this speaker but i would assume it will be fine. Sound was really crisp and clean. The bass was perfect. The only downside i have is that i wish there was an easier way to carry the speaker. It is a little bit heavier due to the charging part. We took it rafting and it was just a hassle to carry it around. Other than that it was perfect.
