The JBL Control 29AV-1 provides improved voicing for extremely flat, high-fidelity performance, extended bandwidth and well-controlled defined coverage from a compact loudspeaker; a rotatable high-frequency horn allows vertical or horizontal orientation, consistent coverage maintains sound character throughout the listening area, and moderate magnetic shielding lets it be placed as close as 230 mm (9 in) to video monitors. The built-in low-insertion-loss, low-saturation line distribution transformer supports 70V or 100V distributed speaker lines, and an 8Ω bypass (thru) position enables use with conventional amplifiers and multi-speaker runs. InvisiBall mounting is included for aiming and theft deterrence (up to 41° horizontal rotation and up to 36° vertical rotation with horn end inward), with attachment points for an optional MTC-29UB U-bracket. Weather resistance is maximized via an 8" Kevlar woofer cone with pure butyl rubber surround and rear-loaded basket, a pure-titanium diaphragm compression driver, a thermoset composite-coated steel grille with foam to limit water incursion, and nickel/zinc rust-resistant terminals; an MTC-PC2 sealed-entrance cover further protects terminals. JBL SonicGuard overload protection provides full-range power limiting with an internal serviceable fuse for exceptional overload conditions, and the system carries IEC 529 IP-X4 splashproof rating while exceeding MilSpec 810 environmental tests (humidity, salt spray, temperature, UV) and passing Mil-Std-202F salt spray.
