It takes about 2 hours to charge, and the battery lasts about 2 and a half hours at full volume. Cant charge while playing music .

With our JBL Flip 6, please try using a different USB cable and USB charger (preferably one with a minimum 2 amp rating), as well as unplugging and re-plugging the cable from your device. The product's charging port may also become clogged with sand or grit. Examine the port. If necessary, use compressed air to clean. The sound quality is great! This would be an amazing product if the battery life wasnt soso very extremely short. I wanted to take this with me on my florida beaching vacation but it would be a waste of time due to the terrible battery life. I purchased a jbl megaboom 9 years ago and the battery lige 9n it is absolutely fantastic. I would not recommend this product unless you plan on using it where you have ready access to electricity, to keep it charged. Its ashame that something with that poor if quality costs sooo much money.

If the speaker doesn't meet the advertised playtime hours even at low to mid-volume levels, there could be a problem with the battery of the unit. I bought to take it my work has poor sound quality battery don't really last more the 4 hours the range its bad you can not go over 50ft with out the the only I like was really essay carry 1 of 10 I would give 4

Thanks for your feedback, we're always looking for ways to improve. If the sound or the bluetooth connection is cutting out we recommend trying this troubleshooting step. Turn On the speaker and press the volume + and play button for more than 3 seconds and the speaker will turn off, you may need to forget the device on your bluetooth list in order to pair to it again. I bought this speaker to replace the one I lost. It was working great for about a week. Then one day the sound just stopped. I tried, charging it, powering it down, updating the firmware, and nothing worked. Unfortunately I had to return it. But when it did work, it was awesome.

While the speaker is portable, has good battery, and can pair with others, there is an odd crackling sound that randomly occurs. I tried a new speaker and had the exact same issue.

Thanks for your feedback, if you're experiencing a crackling sound please try to connect the speaker on different source device to see if the unit or the source device is the problem. If the issue still persist try to reset the unit to factory default setting by
1. Turn on the speaker.
2. Press and hold "Volume +" and "Play" for more than 3 seconds. Speaker will turn off, and reboot to factory default.
You may need to 'forget' the speaker in Bluetooth settings on your phone/tablet in order to pair it again.
If the issue persist please contact our customer support.

The sound is great, especially for such a small speaker, but the bluetooth range is terrible. It can only move about 20 feet from the source before it starts cutting out. I wish I would’ve discovered this within the window for returns. My echo dot has at least twice the range. I expected better from JBL

We appreciate the feedback you've provided to us. The Bluetooth range of our JBL Flip 6 is usually around 10 meters. However, maximum communication range will vary depending on obstacles (person, metal, wall, etc.) or electromagnetic environment. Fully charged this speaker doesn't last 9 holes of golf. Maybe I got one with a bad battery. It sounds great but the battery doesn't last as long as advertised.

Even if listening at maximum volume to heavy bass music, the battery should last longer than 60% of the published playtime. I may have received a defective battery i can barely get 2 hours of maximum volume play time while its charging, yes ive changed cords and blocks and outlets, i work 10 hour welding shifts. Sound is beautiful as always tho

Honestly expected better. The sound is great and all but the battery is just horrible. After the first month it started to fail. It wouldn’t charge fully and even if you have it plugged in the speaker will turn off.

There is an echo. We purchased two speakers so we could put one by each chair. We keep getting an echo between them and have to reset them. That only lasts for a while. Then it begins again. Occasionally, one or the other stops for no particular reason.

I bought this originally has a birthday present. A little over a year later, we had to replace it (constant static). Thankfully I had the protection plan so al l it cost was the price of a new PP. Then a year after that, we had to replace it again (turns off seconds after turning on fully charges). But again, just cost the price of the PP. So to summarize, don't expect too much more than a year worth of use. And if you want easy replacements, get the Protection Plan for $25.

Great for a few months, now will not hold a charge at all and shuts off after a few minutes even when connected to power. My previous speaker lasted years, this was a waste of money.

The speaker was affordable and easy to set-up, but that’s where the positives end. The bass is completely blown out on the speaker. I had to change the EQ on my phone just to play any music without it making that terribly annoying noise. Would not recommend.

I had a previousJBL3 and thought this would be just as good. This speaker does not allow me to listen while it’s charging and the 3 would allow me to do that. I wasn’t too happy about that plus battery does pretty fast.

Thanks for your feedback. Our JBL Flip 6 can be used while plugged in. Please make sure to use a 5V and 1A adapter and the included USB-C cable to charge the speaker. If the issue remains, please contact our JBL Customer Support. We're here to help.
There's no harm in using the unit while it is connected to a power source. Our products have PCM circuits that manage the charging of the battery. However, if you'd like to save energy, you may unplug the speaker.
