The JLab– Epic Lux Lab edition headphones have been epic so far. I have been using these for a couple of days now and am happy with how they have performed so far. At this price range, you will be getting plenty of value for your money. The many features like adaptive noise cancelling, multipoint connections, wireless charging, and great audio are some of the key highlights you will receive with this headset. This is my review of the JLAB – Epic Lux Lab Edition Headphones. *TLDR at the Bottom ========== IN THE BOX/SET-UP: In the box, you get a detailed quick start guide, a hard-shell headphones case, the JLab – Epic Lux Lab Edition headphones, a USB-C to USB-C cable, an AUX to USB-C cable, and a charging pad for wireless charging. Setup is straightforward. Simply turn on your headphones and start the pairing process, then proceed to connect your device to the headphones. If you plan to pair these headphones with your phone, the JLAB app is optional, but I highly recommend it. The app allows you to fully customize your sound, controls, and other important items. ========== DESIGN/COMFORT: The JLab Epic Lux Lab has a unique ear cup design. They aren’t the typical “round” design that most headphone manufacturers use. I personally like it and found that this design conforms to my ears better. The headband strap is soft and comfortable. There are no touch controls on the left side of the headphones since this is the charging side. All the touch controls are on the right side. The logo is a button that allows one to switch sound modes, and the tap controls are all performed above the button. The headphones are easily adjustable using the metal slider. This slider is very smooth and feels highly durable. In terms of comfort, these headphones are incredibly comfortable. I have worn these headphones for 3+ hours in one sitting and have not felt an ounce of discomfort. But due to the faux leather ear cushion material, I found that my ears and head got sweaty. I sometimes wear glasses, and most glasses owners know that some over-the-ear headphones can cause discomfort after a while. For those who wear glasses, there is no need to worry. These headphones can be worn with glasses and still be comfortable after a couple of hours of wear. ========== SOUND QUALITY: In terms of sound, the JLab Epic Lux Lab sounds great outside the box. The highs are noticeably much louder than the lows, but besides that, the sound quality is fine. JLab app offers adjustable EQ settings, and I decided to play with that to fine-tune the headphones to my liking. I am glad that adjustable EQ settings were an option because I found my perfect sound. I then decided to listen to some wired lossless audio, and I was blown away by the immersive audio. With some fine-tuning, these headphones can sound like a couple of hundred bucks. I recommend playing with the EQ settings until you find your perfect sound, but the preset EQ options that JLab created work fine, too, if you prefer that. ========== FEATURES/OTHER NOTES: Below are some key features and notes about the JLab Epic Lux Lab: - The app offers both Adaptive Noise Cancelling and Always-On Noise Cancelling; both work fine but aren’t groundbreaking (they do a good job at blocking white noise like a PC’s fan) - Be-Aware mode works great, but there isn’t anything new added - Tap controls are incredibly responsive; there is minimal latency between the tap and the action - Tap controls do not fully work on Windows PCs; the only parts that work are the play/pause and volume gestures - The JLab app is simple to use and easy to navigate, no account required - The headphones support multipoint connections (up to two) but not dual audio (audio from both sources) - Spatial audio is neat, but it's not mind-blowing; it can be enabled in the app - Removing the headphones automatically pauses the audio, which is a great feature - The included charging puck can charge your headphones as well as your phone - The headphones can be charged wired or wirelessly - These have an amazing battery life. I have yet to charge these headphones since I’ve received them, JLab claims up to 90+ hours of playtime - A minor downside or nuisance is with multipoint on, when you go to work on your second device, the audio automatically stops on the main device. I believe it’s a software bug because there is typically nothing playing on my second device when I do this ========== CONCLUSION/TLDR: Overall, this is a great pair of headphones in this price range. The many features like ANC, wireless charging, fluid audio tap controls, and great sound are some of the key items you will get with these headphones. If you aren’t looking to break the bank but still want great sound and headphones packed with premium features, go ahead and give this one a shot!

Overall: The JBLAB Epic Lab Edition Lux headphones deliver premium sound and good noise cancellation in a sturdy, well-priced package. They’re ideal for commuters, office workers, and anyone who values high-fidelity audio. With a solid build and comfortable over the ear fit, these are sure to attract a lot of people that want high quality sound, with support for LDAC without breaking the bank. Sound Quality: These headphones deliver rich, full sounding audio with strong bass and crisp highs. The sound signature is energetic and works well across genres. It’s definitely a bit boosted on the high and low end, especially when using the JLAB equalizer setting, but I think most will find its sound quite pleasing. The companion JLAB app includes a customizable EQ and button customization, giving users control over their sound profile. Active Noise Cancellation: Noise cancellation is good, if not bordering on great, at reducing ambient sounds like traffic and office noise. Adaptive ANC adjusts to your environment quite well, but you can always turn on noise cancellation and use it at a predetermined level as well. Transparency mode is also an option and available at a press of a side button on the ear cup, for when you need to hear something in your environment. Other Headphone Features: Spatial audio and head-tracking support adds depth to movies and other immersive content. I used this a bit, but I wouldn’t recommend it while listening to music, as it made it sound distant and kind of flat. There are few options for controlling the headset. A multi-function single button that has to be pressed multiple times to initiate functions like play/pause/skip, a side button on the right ear cup that will toggle between noise cancellation modes and touch controls. You can turn them off, which I tend to do since I touch them accidentally quite often. I’m not a fan of touch controls on headphones or earbuds, and I don’t think I’m alone in this. Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3 ensures stable connections and low latency. Supported codecs include SBC, AAC, and LDAC. Multipoint pairing allows seamless switching between devices. These should sound great on just about any device, but LDAC support is only available on Android devices. Comfort: Lightweight design helps comfort during extended wear and these fit my big head very well, but are adjustable for smaller heads as well. The ear cups are a very soft, vegan leather type material that seems to breathe well and is very soft on the skin. Battery Life: Battery life reaches up to 90 hours with ANC turned off and 60 hours with ANC on. This is impressive and with the wireless magnetic charging base, recharging the headset is easier than ever. Of course, you’ll have the option to plug it in with the included USB-C cable as well, but wireless charging is a nice touch for a headset at this price point. Design: The Lux may be JLAB’s flagship model, but it’s still mostly made of plastic, with a bit of metal sprinkled here and there. While it doesn’t scream luxury, it also doesn’t look cheap. These will blend in nicely and won’t attract much attention, which might be a good thing in urban areas, subways, etc. where headphones tend to get stolen at times. Pros: Excellent sound quality Very good ANC and transparency mode Customizable EQ via the JLAB app Long battery life Multipoint pairing Spatial audio and head tracking support Wireless charging with included magnetic base Strong value for the price Cons: ANC performance is solid but not class-leading Build quality is only okay, not great No USB lossless audio support

I recently tested the new JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition ANC Over-Ear Headphones, and I must say, this is a major leap for JLab as it steps confidently into the premium audio space. Having used a few JLab products in the past, mostly in the budget range, I was curious to see how this new model stacks up against the premium brands. The Epic Lux Lab Edition brings an impressive feature set, strong battery performance, and a good sound profile at a price point that challenges mid-range and even some premium models. Accessories and Key features: · Includes a USB-C to 3.5 mm “auxiliary USB” cable; USB-C end to headphones, 3.5 mm to audio source · Bluetooth 5.4, dual connectivity - auto-prioritizes phone calls and resumes laptop audio afterward · Codecs -Supports SBC, AAC, LDAC · Hard travel case (uncommon at mid-tier price) · USB-C to 3.5 mm cable. · USB-C charging cable · Wireless charging dock included (no power adapter in the box) · 2-year limited warranty · Spatial Audio with head tracking, voice assistant, ANC and an App for programmable settings · 3-hour charge time with 90 hr. playtime Design, Comfort, and Fit The design of the Epic Lux Lab Edition feels modern and minimalist with a smooth black finish. Unique ear cup shape, metallic headband arm, leather-like headband and well-padded with foam memory cushions, providing a comfortable fit for long listening sessions. The headband is sturdy yet lightweight and doesn’t cause pressure points even after extended use. The right earcup houses the touch controls and JLAB button, which are intuitive and responsive without lag. These control playback, ANC, and voice assistant activation. I particularly liked the dual-device connectivity (Bluetooth multipoint) feature, which allowed me to switch seamlessly between my laptop and phone during calls. The headphones also come with a 3.5mm jack for wired use and support wireless charging, which is a thoughtful addition in this category. The good part is the wireless charger also charges my cell phone. One thing to note is that the headphones do not fold completely flat, so they take up a bit more space when traveling, but JLab includes a hard carrying case for protection. Sound Quality The Epic Lux Lab Edition surprised me with its sound signature. The 32mm dynamic drivers deliver a balanced and full sound with a slight warmth to the mids. Bass sits comfortably in the mid-range — tight and refined rather than booming – and vocals remain crisp and clear. The soundstage is wide for a closed-back design, giving a sense of depth that’s impressive for this price. The JLab app provides customizable EQ and preset modes - Balanced, Bass Boost, and “JLab Signature. Movies and podcasts sound immersive, and the headphones handle multiple genres—pop, jazz, and classical—with good separation and minimal distortion at high volumes. While the high frequencies can sound slightly sharp when spatial audio is enabled, the overall listening experience is enjoyable and fatigue-free. For its price, I’d rank the Epic Lux Lab Edition’s sound quality above most headphones in that price range. The multipoint connection worked seamlessly, and I didn’t experience any signal dropouts between devices. Noise Cancellation and Microphone Quality The Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on these headphones is effective, especially for mid- and low-frequency sounds like airplane engine noise, or chatter. It’s not on par with the industry leaders, but it’s close—especially considering the cost. The transparency mode works well, allowing ambient sounds through when needed, like during short conversations or outdoor runs. The 4-microphone array also does a good job of filtering out background noise during calls. I tested it in a moderately noisy cafe, and the person on the other end mentioned clear voice pickup with minimal background interference. Battery Life The battery life is one of the standout features. JLab claims up to 90 hours of playback without ANC and about 60 hours with ANC on. After using it for over a week—around 2–3 hours daily with ANC enabled—I still had more than 70% battery remaining. The included wireless charging pad is a nice premium touch and adds convenience to daily use. It also supports USB-C fast charging, which provides several hours of playtime from a short 15-minute charge. Overall Impression The Epic Lux Lab Edition ANC Over-Ear Headphones are a strong step forward for JLab. They deliver premium-level features—adaptive ANC, multipoint connectivity, 90-hour battery life, and wireless charging—at a mid-tier price. The audio quality is rich, dynamic, and enjoyable across different listening environments. Its minor drawbacks include a slightly bulky design, low on bass and occasional sharpness at high treble frequencies in spatial mode. However, these are small trade-offs for a budget headphones with premium features.
