Joan Sutherland - Joan Sutherland-Personal Choice - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The death of Dame Joan Sutherland and the subsequent outpourings of affection, not least in these pages, reminded the world that La Stupenda was one of those rare operatic creatures who brought her music to the wider world, touching the hearts and thrilling the ears of millions who usually wouldn't have visited an opera house. (Gramophone) InchOn a personal note, I was lucky enough over the years to attend a number of Sutherland's recording sessions and was always struck by her professionalism and work ethic, her calm disposition, and an ever-helpful attitude towards her fellow artistsInch Incha huge voice in so many ways she was a one-off and I very much doubt we will ever hear her like again.Inch (Tony Watts, ex Decca)
