We had a Kitchenaide microwave at out last house and purchased another to match our new appliances. This one is the low profile model that came with a trim kit. There are 2- vents for this model. It came with the taller style and no lower. Our handyman lowered by replacing existing skids with a 2”x3” board. Made room for the large vent and lowered the unit to fit and look better overall. It looks good and works well. Remove the old and plug in the new.

We replaced our twenty plus years kitchen appliances this year and this microwave was one of the five pieces. It works very well and is definitely more efficient and heats things better than your old microwave. I would recommend double checking your built in specifications. We ended up having to trim a 1/4” off of each side of the frame in order for the microwave to fit correctly. Nothing a jig saw couldn’t handle but if you’re having this installed by a third party they will charge you for the extra work or just refuse to install the unit.
