We had an earlier model of this microwave that lasted 7 years. Then it stopped rotating. Purchased this model on 7/23/19. Within the first week, the plastic film over the keypad had knicks. No on has long fingernails or used anything which would cut it. By 1 month mark, the plastic is completely messed up over the start button so you cannot read the text. There are two other places where it is also detached. I cannot return it to Best Buy, as there was only a 14 day window. If you buy it, be aware that your keypad will look trashy for the entire time you have this product. So disappointing, KitchenAid. I thought I bought a quality product. It looks far worse than a very cheap no-name brand.

I bought this model because it is exactly the same dimensions as the one I was replacing. I wondered why it cost twice as much as every other microwave, but I just figured it was better quality. Now 1 month later the lamination on the key pad it already lifting. My mom has a kitchen aid and said it's doing the same thing. Seems like a manufacturing issue. I will be looking to return or exchange.
