We waited three years for a replacement for our white 2006 Maytag french door that had seen better days. Now that it has been rebranded by Whirlpool as an "upscale" Kitchenaid KRFC136RWH, I will offer some observations. 1. It is much lighter weight, due to extensive use of plastic, in the internal liners and doors. 2. Drawers are lighter gauge plastic, flex and have extensive side play when you pull them out. 3. The bottom drawer has to be tilted at a 45 degree angle to remove, due to limited travel of the French doors. 4. The water service lines on the back aren't secured, are disorganized, criss crossing and rattle against the wall when the water is dispensed. 5. Mediocre build quality is evident in the form of scrapes in the (plastic) freezer floor, visible excess door sealant. 6. There is a rough edge and uneven cutout at the front right corner of the outer metal shell, floor level. 6. The water filter, which is proprietary Whirlpool, is quite expensive, and rates 1 star reviews because it doesn't last the quoted 6 months. Had I known this I would have scavenged the old Maytag system. 7. Our brand new filter gives our water an "off" taste, which we didn't have before and don't have at our unfiltered faucets. 8. The freezer door, which was removable on our old Maytag for cleaning out the bottom of the freezer (same exact door) is now pop-riveted to the rails and can't be removed. Make sure that someone is around with long arms to clean the bottom of the freezer area. 9. The freezer rails were overloaded with grease on all sides. The lubricant is clear and not recognized until you have it all over your hands. 10. After all this, you can add that it has less capacity in the drawers and freezer. It's too late to get our old Maytag back, and in truth it needed to go, but let's just say that buyer's remorse in rampant due to a big loss in quality AND quality control.

terrible design in so many ways. can't open drawers without both doors open, have to hold cup AND press water button at the same time, drawers have weird pulls that are open on top so food crumbs fall in them. Still don't know what the stupid extra shelf is for.

I purchased a brand new kitchenaid refrigerator because the compressor of my old refrigerator broken and it was costly to repair. A month and a half later after my purchase, the compressor of my new fridge broke, which it was the same model as my old one due to space constraints. Manufacturer wants me to wait almost a month for the part. Don’t buy Kitchenaid. Bad service and product quality.

Don't Buy! It has a LOUD humming noise that KitchenAid customer support told me is normal for this model. I returned it for a refund.

NO review. We didn't receive our refrigerator. A date was scheduled for delivery and we received a notification close to the end of the day that there was an issue. We tried calling & leaving a voice message for Mike at Geek Squad in the Iwilei and Shelumiel Delima have been sending emails to reschedule our delivery but we emailed and left numerous messages and NO ONE RESPONDS to our emails or voice messages. Thjis is very unacceptable. We been having issues with the Samsung refrigerator since October 2025. And all we have been receiving is the run arounds. We would appreciate if someone will be able to assist us IMMEDIATELY. The staff and attorneys are getting very upset.

After our house flooded with Hurricane Harvey the one thing I was excited about ordering were new appliances. I love the styling, features, and quality of KitchenAid products and was thrilled to purchase the 25.8 Cu. Ft. French Door refrigerator (KRMF706ESS), the beautiful dishwasher with a 3rd rack (KDTE304GPS), the 30" Double Oven with convection (KODE500ESS), and an enormous Microwave with a removable shelf for lots of options (KNHP519ESS) which had a special cherry cabinet built around it. Our kitchen was finally ready, just in time for Christmas 2018. The refrigerator was the first to have issues, with the ice maker leaking, stopping, freezing the entire thing up which had to be thawed with a hair dryer. We replaced the ice container 6/20, motor, seal and shaft 8/20, I/M leaking and stopped cooling on both sides 6/22. In August 2023 the entire fridge had quit working correctly and would have cost over 1K for parts which 'might' have solved the issue. Sadly our wonderful microwave started making a loud noise and quit running October 2023 and the technician gave us the news that the Magnetron shorted, and couldn't be fixed. We have a whole house surge protector so we know it wasn't caused by electrical issues. Now in the summer of 2024 our dishwasher quit working correctly. The motor has died in the main wash assembly. It would cost more than $600 as the entire bottom of the unit must be replaced. Since 3 of our 4 expensive KitchenAid appliances have failed I asked the technician about our very pricy oven which he warned us that if the heating element on the bottom goes out, the removal and repair for it will be astronomical, because of the way it is constructed. [ ] I absolutely love these appliances, they were all top notch and had every feature I could ever want, but I can't believe that I have spent over $10,000 and am having to replace 3 of the 4 in less than 6 years!

I purchased this refrigerator with a three week wait on delivery. A few days after I purchased it I was informed it would take another four weeks before I received it. I was then billed for it before I could receive it. Not good customer service!
