This is a great addition to my new house. It looks beautiful plus it’s very convenient. No need to remember where the keys are.. plus need not to go to door everytime to check if locked or not! Easy access to app. Only drawback I felt was I needed an external hub for the lock to be able to connect to app. It would have been better if the hub was integrated in the lock itself

This product and brand continues to be a failure. This is my 3rd Kwikset lock, my first two locks had functional issues during the weather change. The geek squad could not install this lock nor could we find the appropriate application to integrate the lock. The directions do not clearly identify the right technology to match. Returned.

We are here to help and wish we heard from you before you returned the lock. The SmartCode 916 featuring Z-Wave lock works with Z-Wave compatible hubs or security systems to then connect with an app. A few examples of Z-Wave compatible systems are the Samsung SmartThings, Ring Alarm, Wink, and ADT.

I brought this to replace my kwikset smart lock 888. This lock was easier to program and was quickly picked up by my alarm due to zwave. I love that the panel lights up when you touch it.

LOVE these locks, we have 3 installed and been great. I did have a screen start to fail on one of them, but the company was fantastic with replacing it and been great ever since

After hours of back and forth with kwikset support, they could offer no solution to the issues I was experiencing with my new lock and ultimately told me I should return it or pay for a technician to repair it. Followed all instructions, lock would not stop beeping after it was fully set up and the screen would only repond to touch on some of the numbers.

Your experience is very important to us and we're here to help! Here are some steps you can try to get your lock in working order:
1. Measure your door jamb hole to ensure it's a full 1 inch deep.
2. Check your door alignment: https://www.kwikset.com/support/answers/how-do-i-check-door-alignment-for-my-smart-lock
3. Replace the batteries and perform the Manual Handing Process with the door open and locked. https://youtu.be/jhE5Nilog54
4. If 2 digits illuminate when touching screen, this mean the Secure Screen mode is enabled. Please check page 4 of the installation guide for disabling instructions.
