Q: Can this lock be keyed to your existing key? If yes how do you do that?
A: Yes you can. There is a separate packet with instructions to insert a special lock device which allows you to re-key the door lock. The directions are quite specific and I would recommend calling Kwikset Customer support if you do not have the special lock device and instructions.

A: The SmartCode Z-Wave lock is compatible with Ring Alarm System, however it is not compatible with the Ring Doorbell.

A: Kwikset Smartcode 914 Z-Wave will be compatible with any third-party HUB that runs the same frequency as the lock. Kwikset offers Z-Wave and Zigbee please be sure to purchase the correct frequency.

A: Kwikset SmartCode Z-Wave Deadbolt lock comes the Z-Wave technology. Smartcode Z-Wave door locks are not connected via internet and are not Wi-Fi enabled devices. Smartcode locks are equipped with Z-Wave technology. In order for a Z-Wave device to work, they need to be paired to a Z-Wave controller. The controller is the main gateway to control all your Z-Wave devices that are enrolled to the wireless mesh. Some controllers work off your existing router via an Ethernet cable while others work through GSM radio (like cellular phones). You need to research different controllers in the market and find which one best suits your needs.
