About This Item
Celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2025, Kyoto Jazz Sextet has made an urgent return with a 12-inch vinyl . The group offers a spiritual yet danceable jazz arrangement of 'Dosojin no Uta,' a traditional folk song from Nozawa Onsen Village in Nagano Prefecture. Originally demoed in 2022 and featured during the live-streamed Dosojin Fire Festival, the track drew quiet attention and has now been completed with newly recorded drums and bass for the 2025 . It was also selected as the commercial theme for 'THE GIN SODA,' a new beverage made with gin from the Nozawa Onsen Village Distillery and launched in Lawson stores nationwide in March 2025-earning the song widespread buzz. On the flip side is 'Extra Freedom,' Kyoto Jazz Sextet's biggest hit to date with over one million streams on Spotify. Also included is a newly recorded jazz version of 'Still In Love,' a global anthem famously covered by Shuya Okino, this time featuring Navasha Daya and Tomoki Sanders. This showcases both the group's musical evolution and their strongest material yet-a sublime record not to be missed. This is also the inaugural from KJCC (Kyoto Jazzy Creative Council), a new collective founded by Shuya Okino, Yukari BB (Jazz Sport Kyoto), and Masaki Tamura (DoitJAZZ!). The Japanese title on the jacket was handwritten by Shuya Okino himself. LISTEN //youtu. Be/HRnKDyGBp_4Tracklist Side A1. DOSOJIN NO UTA2. EXTRA FREEDOMSide B1. STILL IN LOVE
