I recently purchased the LG 2.0 cu ft. countertop microwave with sensor cooking and smart inverter technology, and while I was initially excited about its features, I ultimately decided to return it. Let's start with the positives: this microwave has a sleek design and a spacious interior that can easily accommodate larger dishes. The smart inverter technology allows for even cooking and reheating, which I found to be quite effective, especially for delicate foods. The sensor cooking feature was also a great addition, adjusting cooking times based on the moisture in the food, which took the guesswork out of reheating leftovers. However, my main issue with the microwave, which ultimately led to my return, was the side-opening feature. I didn’t like how it opened from the side rather than the front, which made it inconvenient for my kitchen layout. I found it difficult to access and use in my limited counter space, and it made the overall experience less user-friendly. Overall, while this microwave has excellent technology and performance, the unconventional opening feature did not work for me personally. If side-opening microwaves suit your kitchen setup, this could be a great choice, but for me, it just wasn’t a fit.

Definitely not a fan of LG products, We bought an entire kitchen package from another retailer less than six years ago. After 13 months the control panel on the dishwasher went out and had to replace the panel, $200 plus I did the replacement, about 8 months later electric stove went out, $800 to repair, bought a different brand stove. Microwave is built into the cabinets, and requires a trim kit that is almost as expensive as the microwave. First microwave went out in less than 3 years, bought another one just like it, to prevent buying another trim kit. It lasted until about 3 weeks ago, control panel again, cost of control panel with me doing the labor was about $30 less than buying another microwave. Remember the microwave needed to fit the cabinet, and I didn't want to buy an another trim kit, as this microwave had been discontinued, but COINCIDENTLY LG had this newer model which was the exactly same size as the old one, so as to not have to buy another trim kit I had to get this one., Didn't want LG but the only option was LG. Keep in mind that all of these appliances are in the upper end of LG products line. Oh another thing, the refrigerator has two doors, one of them has a small plastic button to release the door latch, the button came out due to one of the connectors breaking. Checked on a new button, have to buy an entire new door handle assembly $130.00 just for the part. this button just clips in to place and should cost no more than $5.00, but you have to buy the whole handle assembly. Super glue fixed the problem. They use cheap plastic parts. We have never abused any of these items, and our children are all grown.

One day our microwave worked and the next it didn't accompanied with the classic dying microwave smell so I had to find one pretty quickly. I knew I wanted a larger one that our previous 1.6 Cu unit and at least rated equal to or higher than our 1000w unit. While searching, this one not only popped up that fit the bill but was open box excellent new and local for an absolutely fantastic price, so off I went to scoop it up. Unit was basically brand new. The box had just clearly went 12 rounds with Mike Tyson in his prime and it showed but all the contents were fine. Setup was straight forward and it works well enough. It definitely heats things up quicker than our old Panasonic but there are three glaring issues that cost it two stars: #1. The touchpad is incredibly finicky. You have to touch the buttons just right and softly to get it to work. We find ourselves sometimes striking a button more than once. Once you start to get the hang of it, it is easier but still a problem. #2. The door open mechanism has some type of safety on the side button that must be pushed in and only then can you push the front to open the door. For someone who is right handed it is irritating. For someone who is left handed like myself, it is basically impossible. This is the first microwave I've encountered that is not lefty friendly. #3. Non lit keypad and the way it is designed, in dim lighting you can't really make out anything. Couple a finicky keypad with poor lettering in lower light levels and you will be fumbling around. Besides that, it has been getting the job done. Some reviews are saying these are dying after a few years so we shall see.

Functional but Lound clanking sound each time door is opened/closed. Annoying -sounds like tin door clanking open/shut. No way to use it without waking folks up at night. Large size is Good-- holds various items/full meal at once. Cane barely hear ping when cooking time is done. Impossible to hear from another room.

Overall it works fine. Its difficult to program and is very lightweight on the counter so it beeds something to stabilize it or it will move when you try to touch the screen. However, of the choices and price range its ok. I wish my old unit still worked!! It is very quiet and seems effecient.

This is a great microwave but the new model has a button on the side that you have to push to open the door. Because my place for the microwave was inside a cabinet enclosure, I could not use the new model. But my older model without the button is wonderful.

I’ve had it now since June 2025 and there’s an unusual sound when the microwave is turning. I’ve removed everything, cleaned thoroughly to ensure there was no food or residue where the turning components are and nothing. Still makes that nerve racking sound. If I could get the strange sound issue resolved I could update the rating.

The product is fine, the service I received at this store was terrible, and I will never return to this store again. There are other options, and they should know this.

This LG microwave has good reviews mostly. It was those positive reviews that swayed me to buy it. I give it 3 stars only for a couple of reasons. First it rocks on my counter which is totally annoying. No matter how much I try to adjust the feet. The buttons are funny as often you need to press them more than once. One thing to know is this thing is HUGE! Way bigger than we need but not a reason to return it. As far as heating up food or water for tea it works great.

Large interior and heats evenly, but missing ThinQ app integration and basic quick-cook shortcuts (no 1-, 2-, or 3-minute buttons, only +30 seconds). Control buttons require a very firm push in just the right spot. Big size is a plus, but usability falls short.

This microwave works very well, however my previous one which was almost the same as this LG microwave died on us after only 5 years. We got an F-3 message and nothing would work after that. Also the handle to open and close the microwave broke around this time also. Quality not so good. I only got this one again because it was the only one that fit in the cabinet.

Got this to replace an older version of the same. It works well and has upgraded features. One thing I don’t like about this one is that after 2 months, it still produces a burning electronics type of smell when it’s running. It’s understandable that ther’s a “burn-in” period but this has lasted too long. Otherwise, it works well.

Nice product but difficult to open. You have to push a small lever down and push the open button at the same time. There was no need to add the lever.

Somewhat average microwave .... but number pad can be a bit frustrating as a result of not being able to see the numbers in a dim room. If not for that stipulation there is no other problem .....

Microwave operates just fine. The ad, however, had it listed as black stainless, which it is not. It has a black case with a 1" wide strip of normal stainless across the bottom.
