I purchased the LG 33” bottom freezer refrigerator on the rebound. I am so happy that I did. I needed a refrigerator that was no more than 33” wide. After waiting for my original purchase (LG French door) for over a month, I was informed that it would be another month or so before it would arrive due to back order. I needed a refrigerator. The manager and sales person were very helpful in getting me a refrigerator that would be delivered within a a day or so. The new purchase was a side by side and I thought that it would be ok. I really didn’t want another side by side. After installation, I realized that although there was really nothing wrong with the refrigerator, I was not happy. It was not as roomy as I expected and it was just not what I wanted. I returned to the store and the manager sent a female sales associate who was very helpful in assisting me. She realized that I could not make a choice from the refrigerators that were available, due to my limited space. She advised me to go home and take my time before making a decision. After reviewing my available options, I decided on the LG 33” 25.5 cubic ft. with ice maker. It fit my space. It’s very roomy, both refrigerator and freezer. It has a section for butter, cottage cheese, sour cream, etc. I like the vegetable and fruit drawers. It even has a separate drawer for snacks, cheese, etc. I did not want the water and ice in the door. I buy bottled water any way. If I don’t want to buy bottled water, I can always put ice in a pitcher to melt and place in the refrigerator. The ice maker makes plenty of filtered ice and you don’t have to worry about the ice sticking together or getting clogged in the dispenser. It is quiet. This refrigerator was an excellent choice for me. I love it!

My wife chose this bottom freezer refrigerator over the Whirlpool model mostly because the Whirlpool bottom freezer had wire baskets whereas the LG had solid plastic baskets. She thought things would fall through the wire basket. Also, we liked that the controls are at the very top and didn't take up any room so that when you try to put something in the fridge you don't hit the controls and light which our current refrigerator has this problem. All our appliances are Whirlpool so this is a step out of the norm. Inside it does say Made in Mexico. It was taller than our current Maytag 21.5 cf model. So I had to take down the cabinet above the fridge and luckily was able to cut off 3/4 in off the bottom of the cabinet. That worked well. Also, it is much deeper too but we have gotten used to it. So far it seems to work very well. The noise is minimal and the LED lighting is very nice. We've had it one week. The delivery guys were pretty hard core speaking Spanish and while I understand some Spanish, they were hard to understand. That is not a fault, I'm fine with it, and enjoy that sort of thing. They did not wear masks nor seemed to care about that sort of thing. When Best Buy called to follow up on the delivery experience, Best Buy specifically asked if they were wearing masks and I had to say No. Otherwise, they seemed to take good care of the fridge. We had two problems. 1) The leveling feet were screwed in so tight I had to order thin wrenches from Home Depot (you need 18mm thin wrench) to get in the tight space and they were both screwed in very tight. Plus they look pretty beat up but nothing else does. Strange. After getting them screwed down a ways, you can use regular wrenches. 2) The ice maker would not work. After 24 hours it should start to make ice. After 4 days, nothing. I checked the water supply several times and verified water made it through the hose all the way to the inlet water valve. I read online that there is a button under the ice maker for testing. I pushed that button and the ice maker goes through it's motion and at the end no water comes out to fill the tray. Did that several times. Now I'm down to checking the valve. Took off the bottom back panel and then unscrewed the screw holding the valve on to the bracket. The valve has a blue connector that goes to the center of a white connector. It immediately fell out. So it was not inserted all the way and was not locked in place. I used a mirror to verify the pins are in the center of that white connector and then plugged the blue connector in all the way until it snapped and locked in place. Viola' - a push of the test button and water started flowing in the ice maker. Hurray - we now have plenty of ice, after discarding the first 5 or 10 batches of course. Attached a couple photos of the connector issue.

I love it so much I bought this refrigerator TWICE! I had issues with another “S” brand ice maker constantly breaking so I’m afraid of getting an ice maker in the door that’s in the refrigerator again. I love the bottom freezer design as I feel it makes the refrigerator, which I use the most easier to access and see everything inside. This particular design has the “deli” drawer, most of this style only have two drawers one for vegetables and one for fruits. I like to bring my lunch to work having this 3rd drawer helps organize my to go food items. For me there is plenty of room in the door for storage. I do not keep milk or cream in the door, I read an article years ago that those items should be kept in the coldest part of the refrigerator (the back) if you want them to last longer since I don’t go through them fast enough. I almost bought another brand just because it has an internal water dispenser, it would be nice to have but in the end the deli drawer is more important to me. I can keep a pitcher of water in the door. As for the ice, this makes plenty of ice. I have never had a problem with the ice maker. Freezer space, I can fit pizza boxes however some are bulky and I just take them out of the box to save space. They are well wrapped in plastic and I don’t need the directions. With stacking storage the trick is using the right containers, I like rectangle shapes that once they are frozen I can turn on the side. Like a file cabinet, I can see what’s in there without having to pull everything out. Cleans easily, some other brands are hard to remove drawers for cleaning. My old refrigerator the drawers were made of 2 parts pressed together that could not be taken apart. However they had an annoying gap that would catch crumbs and was impossible to clean! Watch for that. Rolls easily when I need to clean behind, no issues there. Best Buy installation my only complaint is having to book 2 weeks out. Photos are of the 1st refrigerator I bought 2 years ago, looks great in a white or brown kitchen. I just ordered a new one for my new home with white cabinets I know it’s going to look amazing. Once I get the new one delivered I’ll add a photo.
