LG - 350 Sq. Ft. 8,000 BTU DOE Smart Portable Air Conditioner - Black

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us regarding your LG LP0821GSSM portable air conditioner. We understand your inquiry about whether the unit shuts off automatically once the set temperature is reached or if it requires manual turning off. When the unit is in Cool mode, the compressor will cycle off once the set temperature is reached to maintain comfort and efficiency. However, the fan typically continues to run to circulate air. If you choose Energy Saver mode, both the compressor and the circulation fan will turn off when the desired room temperature is met. The fan will then periodically cycle on to check the room's air temperature and determine if more cooling is needed. The unit is designed with a thermostat control feature. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-400-sq-ft-smart-portable-air-conditioner-black/6505294.p?skuId=6505294 Your feedback is important, and we'd like to assist you further if you have any other questions or need help adjusting the settings. The 400 Sq. Ft and 350 Sq. Ft in the item description and specifications for this LG 400 Sq. Ft. Smart Portable Air Conditioner - Black, Model # LP0821GSSM are 'estimated cooling areas based on the air conditioner's BTU rating of 8,000 BTU. Some BTU calculators will calculate the estimated cooling area for 8,000 BTU as up to 400 Sq. Ft, but an 8000 BTU air conditioner can cool a space ranging from 200 to 550 square feet, depending on factors like insulation, window size, and occupancy. The average of 200 Sq. Ft. and 550 Sq. Ft. is 375 Sq. Ft, but as a general rule, about 20 BTUs of cooling are required per square foot of space. That means an 8.000 BTU air conditioner room size is 400 square feet, but if you look at some AC Size Room Size Table, the estimated cooling area for an 8,000 BTU air conditioner is listed a 300 - 350 Sq. Ft, for an 18 x 18 Ft. or studio apartment as an example. Keep in mind that these charts provide rough estimates, and other factors can affect the final BTU requirement such as Room Height, Sunlight Exposure, the Room Height of a room, the number of occupants in a room, and heat-generating appliances like ovens or electronics that can also increase the cooling load. In spaces like kitchens, you may need to add extra BTUs to compensate for this additional heat source...^Ivan.

Thank you for reaching us regarding LG Air Conditioner. The "FL" code on your LG LP0821GSSM portable air conditioner is an error message that indicates a problem. There are three possible reasons for this code: • High humidity: If the air is too humid, water can collect in the base pan, triggering the "FL" code. • Full water collection tank: The tank needs to be emptied if the "FL" code appears. • Sensor issue: In some cases, the "FL" code may be due to a faulty sensor that has shut off the unit. Check these issues to resolve the problem and get your air conditioner working again. Hi! The LG Portable Air Conditioner does not need a drain hose as during Cool or Fan Mode (in low humidity), there should be no need for drainage. The air conditioner is designed to operate with some moisture in the collection tank to help increase its efficiency. As far as an adapter, you can use one. Thank you for your question~ ~Rita

Yes, this air conditioner does have a timer.
