Is what you are referring to as "A 55LG" a 55" LG TV? What type of phone do you have, an Android phone or an iPhone? Casting the screen of your smartphone to an LG TV is the same procedure you would use for the LG 43” Class NU700B Series LED Nano AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2026), Model: 43NU700BPUC. Regrettably, without a description of how you are trying to cast your phone's screen to the TV, there is no way to determine if you are doing anything wrong. Please contact Customer Support on social media (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram) using our handle @LGUSSUPPORT for assistance. They are set up to give you a step-by-step guidance for the procedure...^Ivan.

How old are your cable set-top box and your DVR? What connectivity does either have? Many cable set-top boxes still use a coaxial connection, but the industry is rapidly moving away from them. While coax brings the signal into the box, an HDMI cable is almost universally used to send the video and audio from the box to your TV, but major telecom and cable providers are aggressively phasing out traditional coaxial boxes in favor of IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) streaming boxes, and they do not have a coaxial port at all. They connect entirely via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable to your home router, streaming live TV exactly like a Roku or Apple TV. Modern DVRs almost exclusively connect to a TV via an HDMI cable, but some older or specialized models can still connect using a coaxial cable. For the vast majority of setups, HDMI is the required method because coaxial cables cannot carry modern High-Definition (HD) or 4K video signals from a box to a screen. The LG 43” Class NU700B Series LED Nano AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2026), Model # 43NU700BPUC, features two HDMI ports, one of which is an HDMI eARC port (HDMI 2). Although the HDMI eARC port is specialized for sending audio back out to a soundbar or surround sound system, it still functions as a perfectly normal HDMI input for video devices. You can connect a cable set-top box to the HDMI 1 port on the TV and connect your DVR to the HDMI eARC port. Since you do not have an external soundbar plugged into it, it operates exactly like a standard HDMI port. It will safely receive the video and audio coming from your DVR and play the sound directly through the TV's built-in speakers. If you decide down the line to add a soundbar, that soundbar must take over the HDMI 2 (eARC) port to function properly. Because your TV only has 2 HDMI ports total, adding a soundbar means you would lose the port for either your cable box or your DVR...^Ivan.
