To be honest this was the worst experience I ever had buying an open box item suppedly in "excellent" like new condition. This was the only semi local store with it In stock, excellent condition OB, so I drove to Boca Raton after work, 1st time thinking they were open until 9pm like my Coral Springs store found out they were closed at 8pm I got there at 8:30pm so I came the next day at 7:30pm. 1st they couldn't find it and said the online stock was wrong l, then another employee found it but this was loose parts and they didn't know if the sub and rear speakers were the correct ones. Mind you an item listed as top tier Excellent is sopossed to be in original packaging with all parts, no scratches, like new condition. So this was no box, with questionable accessories l, sub and rear. I asked for them to reprice to their lowest o.b. prices and they said they couldn't and no managers were available and that the system wouldn't let them bla bla, they somehow took 10 bucks off but still listed as excellent condition. I gave in because they were closing and I was tired and just wanted to get it over with. So then when I got to my car I turned on my interior lights, start looking at it the Soundbar & speakers outer shell in a more peaceful environment. I immediately started noticing so many scratches gouges so then took out my phones camera to record what I had missed noticing inside the store. I had seen some scratches but somehow missed most while trying to hurry and pay. I then started looking at the part numbers of the rear speakers and the subwoofer to compar it to the soundbar, I noticed that the manufacturer's (mfgd) dates were off by a whole year. So I started thinking like hmm this is not the right ones turned out to be last year's models lineup rear speakers. I made sure to record everything just in case, tested when I got home to find out that yes soundbar is not compatible with the rear speakers knor the subwoofer. Urgg I was very upset obviously so I went back to Boca Raton location to return it the next day. Luckily I was able to find the highest model LG soundbar system the S95 locally in Tamarac, from a fellow veteran, brand new in the box on OfferUp app for a price I could afford ($600 regular price over $1500) To sum it up I was very surprised that no manager came up to me to apologize, ask what's wrong, offer another item, discoun, anything or to give an explanation to try to save a customer from a bad experience. I don't know how I the world an item in such terrible condition could slip by employee or a manager to be "considered" to be sold, resold in "open box excellent condition" I the Prestigious Boca Raton Best buy Location? So here I am writing this experience in the reviews several weeks later. I wasn't going to but It was so bad that I did. Hopefully it helps others. Sorry for being too low of a review write up.

Its a subpar soundbar. There is no app that supports it anymore to calibrate it. Wowcast doesnt work with it even with an adapter. Just an overpriced piece of junk that is impossible to put back in the box to return…. I am using it on my LG C4 EVO 77” as well..

Hi, David. Thank you for reaching out about your LG Soundbar (S70TR) model. We understand the importance of getting strong performance from a soundbar.
One helpful step you can try is adjusting the Sound Mode to Cinema or AI Sound Pro, as these modes enhance clarity and bass response. You can also confirm that eARC/ARC is enabled on your TV if you’re using HDMI, which ensures the soundbar receives the highest‑quality audio signal. You can review additional setup guidance for your model here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-S70TR.AUSALLK. We’d be glad to take a closer look and assist further. I have been very disappointed with this soundbar set. I was unable to listen before buying in the store as none of the soundbars were hooked up, but I know the name and reputation and this was not the cheapest soundbar set. The sound is mediocre, and sometimes I have to hit the up volume button 15-20 times to notice an increase in volume. The most irritating thing is that neither the remote nor the bar have any indicator showing either the volume level or when you ate adjusting the volume either way. I have never seen a bar without this indicator. I do not recommend this product.

Hi, Deb. Thanks for reaching out about your LG Soundbar (S70TR) model and the return process.
We totally get how you’re feeling about the whole “wireless” thing and the wait for your refund. While the soundbar does have a wireless connection with the subwoofer and rear speakers, they still need to be plugged into a power outlet.
As for your refund, we know it can get a bit tricky when a sound system is part of a TV purchase. We suggest giving Best Buy customer service a call at 888-237-8289 to check on your refund status. If you have to buy a soundbar with your TV then something is very wrong. Either it was too loud or not loud enough. This would probably be a great soundbar if you have a big living room with high ceilings.

I purchased an excellent condition open box geek squad certified sound bar. I planned on running a HDMI cable through the wall and purchased the appropriate length separately. I want to unpack the supposedly excellent condition set up and took an inventory. No remote two of the three required power cables. The sound bar grill has a huge dent in it and all of the speakers are scratched. It is unusable. I am returning it. Hey Best Buy!!! Do better!!! I would not even rate this as fair condition. Geek squad certified… yeah ok! It’s going back and I would like compensation for my trouble.

Poor sound quality-- granted that the space size i used this in is 400 sq feet so may have something to do with it, but the sound was so bad that no matter the setting words could not be understood. Als rear speakers need to be tethered with speaker wire. Maybe suitable for a small room??

Hi, Bill. Thank you for reaching out about your LG Soundbar (S70TR) model. We understand the importance of having clear, balanced sound—especially in a 400 sq. ft. space. One helpful step you can try is adjusting the AI Sound Pro or Clear Voice feature on the soundbar. These settings are designed to enhance vocal frequencies, which can make spoken words easier to understand in larger rooms. You can also try repositioning the soundbar slightly closer to ear level, as placement can make a noticeable difference in clarity.
For the rear speakers, the S70TR uses a wired connection to the wireless receiver, which is required for stable surround performance. Hi, Tom. Thank you for reaching out about your LG Soundbar (S70TR) model. I purchased this to pair with an LG OLED evo 65" TV. The overall sound experience from this soundbar is pretty subpar. The treble and voice are quite raspy and scratchy sounding. It includes several "bells and whistles" type features, but none can compensate for the overall disappointing sound. There are multiple sound modes as well as some limited custom settings. Overall it is a poor sound experience, especially at this price point. LG support was not very helpful in troubleshooting. I would recommend looking at other soundbar options.

Hi, Doug. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG Soundbar (S70TR) model. We appreciate your feedback and understand that the sound quality hasn’t met your expectations, particularly when paired with your LG OLED Evo 65" TV. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products exceeding our customer's needs.
