I really wanted to love this tv. The colors are gorgeous. I knew because I already have one in my bedroom. I was ecstatic to add this one to the living room. There have been issues from day one. Bad HDMI ports render a streaky picture. The volume goes all the way down to zero ever time I press mute. An hour on support chat with LG confirmed what I believe, and it's that the unit is defective. More specifically, the HDMI ports. Of course I bought this brand new and sealed on clearance, so there's no way to exchange for a new one. My only options are to get a refund and downgrade, or allow a repair technician to repair a new unit. Neither entity has means to offer an even exchange. I personally don't want a refurbished television that I paid over 4 grand for, even if it's refurbished in my own home.

To help address the picture issues, we recommend using the "HDMI Check" tool found in the "Quick Help" menu to diagnose the cable and port status, and ensuring you are using high-quality Ultra High Speed HDMI cables. For the volume concern, you may want to try an "AV Reset" by pressing the Mute button on your remote three times rapidly and selecting the reset option to restore the audio and video configurations to their default states. For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com, and we will be more than happy to assist you further. I am very much a TV nerd and upgrade my TVs frequently. I went with an 83 inch G4 OLED because of the room and some people might be sitting to the side so I didn’t want any color or picture derogation. In standing still content, the TV is phenomenal but does have an issue with 24 frame content. There’s extreme motion blur. Done everything to put in game mode cinema mode. Turn motion off turn motion on you just can’t get rid of it. LG needs to do a firmware update to improve the upscaling and motion of 24 frame content, which by the way is a majority of content out there. I also own a 65 inch G5 and there’s vast improvements on that TV with this issue, but there’s still a slight hint of it.

It was an okay, decent TV. However, the TV had started experiencing some lil burn-in on the top left side of the TV after running a burn-in test. When I ran a burn-in test after 2 weeks of relocation, and finally I had some time to set it up. I discovered it showed some message on "Life is Good", and other words from the LG slogan, which I guess was showing from the static picture from LG ads displayed while this TV was on Store display at the Best Buy store. I guess that is what I get for buying a "Open box - Good condition". The burn-in is not that obvious, except when I ran the burn-in test, I couldn't return the TV cause I live in Arizona, almost 4 hours from where I purchased/bought the TV in Nevada. Returning it would have been a stressful quest. Outside that, it has been a great TV for movies and news

The first one I received was installed and it was dead on arrival it took a month before Best Buy. Replaced it with another TV unable to get the optical out working for my sound bar. The TV itself has great picture but very complicated Software.
