Questions & Answers
  • I am planning on mounting this TV to my wall using an aftermarket VESA mount, rather than the included flush mount. How far are the upper VESA mounting points from the top edge of the television? Thanks.

The 83-inch Class LG OLED evo AI G5 4K Smart TV 2025 with Supplied Wall Mount, Model # OLED83G5WUA has a Mount Pattern that is specifically for the included wall mount, and a 400 x 400 mm VESA Mount Pattern that can be used with third-party VESA-Compliant Wall Mounts that support the pattern. The top row of VESA Mount holes is 387 mm (15.24") from the top of the TV's panel...^Ivan.

  • How soon can I get the 83in LG G5 delivered? Is the 77in LG G5 available sooner than the 83in? Can I get either by April 1? How long is the warranty? Will the warranty or an extended warranty cover the panel replacement? Does it cover dead pixels?

Hello, Steve. LG's initial official public announcement about the launch date for our 2025 LG OLED TVs only shows that the 83-inch Class LG OLED evo AI G5 4K Smart TV 2025 with Supplied Wall Mount, Model # OLED83G5WUA, and the 77-inch Class LG OLED evo AI G5 4K Smart TV 2025 with Supplied Wall Mount, Model # OLED77G5WUA will be available later this month but does not give a specific date yet for when the TVs will be available in retail stores. The OLED evo AI G5 4K Smart TV 2025 series will have the same Manufacturer's Limited Warranty of 1 Year Parts & Labor, 5 Year Panel as last year's OLED evo AI G4 4K Smart TV 2024 series. In the 1st year of the warranty, panel, parts, and labor costs are covered. In the 2nd-5th year of the warranty, only panels are covered, and labor will be charged. The warranty will cover dead pixels within the warranty period...^Ivan.

  • What is the difference between the 2024 model and the 2025 model of this tv?

The LG G5 OLED is better than the LG G4 OLED due to three key differences. The G5 is brighter overall, so it's better suited for bright rooms and delivers a more impactful HDR experience. The G5 also displays brighter and more vibrant colors, giving it punchier colors overall. Finally, the G5 supports 165Hz, whereas the G4 is limited to 144Hz, making it slightly better for PC gamers with powerful rigs. The G4 was one of the most feature-rich TVs of last year, and the G5 builds on its impressive feature set. The big difference is in the panel technology used by each: the G4 features second-generation MLA screen tech, which is noticeably brighter than previous OLED technology, but LG has now replaced this with Primary RGB Tandem OLED tech for the G5. The G4 comes with the Alpha 11 processor, giving it four times as much AI processing power as the Alpha 9 chip seen in the LG C4. It also enables certain features, such as Peak Highlighter (which intelligently boosts the brightness of a small number of screen pixels for brighter localised highlights), AI Director Processing (which gives more accurate colors) and Object Enhancing by Visual Perception (which adds depth and three-dimensionality). The G5 features an upgraded version of the same chip, which is referred to as the Alpha 11 Gen 2, which enhances the AI features of the G4. The G5 also features an integrated AI chatbot to help diagnose issues with your TV, and LG has even implemented a large language model so you don't need to remember specific commands – you can simply say something such as "make the picture brighter" or "I can't hear voices very well," and the TV will adjust accordingly. The latest webOS 25 operating system features on the G5, which is an update from the G4's webOS 24. The new version maintains excellent app support for all major streaming services, including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and local options. The interface has seen some minor refinements, too...^Ivan.
