After being a samsung customer for several years, I made a leap of faith on the LG brand. The first phone I owned was actually an LG flip phone. With that being said, expect to make a huge adjustment with this brand. Picture and video quality are actually pretty outstanding, along with the processor. What does drive me a bit nuts is the keyboard. Yes it probably sounds petty but when you come from Samsung features and cross over to LG features, your going to notice a change! Again though, this is why I mentioned expecting a change. Depending on your budget, this phone is a pretty penny but your also getting a boatload of memory on it! Not sure if the Best Buy guys were blowing smoke at me but if my Ipod nano ever dies, this thing can fit a lot of music. Onto my purchase adventure. So it took me two trips to get this phone because there was a minor discrepancy with my crossover since I was still with straight talk. So, after about a full week of back and forth with straight talk/Verizon I was able to switch and pick this one up. However, make sure you test it out before you buy, as you would a car. Also, as friendly as the best buy reps present themselves, do not expect them to take care of you after you leave the building. The guy who sold my LG to me was very informative. When I had to call back in with a question regarding my phone, I was told by the rep that he was giving them my number to call me back in a few minutes. Well it never happened! I can't believe they were that busy but I find it a bit shade that their that irresponsible to not return a simple call. Thankfully I called Verizon and they helped me with the issue I had. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be buying a phone from best buy again.

I'm very happy with my LG G8 ThinQ! I wanted a Snapdragon 855, I didn't want a curved screen and I wanted 128GB of built in storage and wireless charging. I also got a nice size phone with great cameras, 6GB of RAM and a few other features I really like! One thing I like is you can customize the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. You can place them in any order you want and add a few custom LG buttons. Another thing I like is there's a dot at the far left of the navigation bar and if you double tap it that will hide the navigation bar. This seems to work in almost any app! As far as the home screen goes, I install Nova Launcher on every phone I get and it runs very well with that on and gives me all the features I know and love. The battery life is very good! It has 3600mAH battery which is fine but not huge by today's standards. The thing that helps a lot is the 7nm die size of the Snapdragon 855 - half the size of the CPU in my last photo. That reduces wasted power by converting less power to heat. My biggest disappointment is probably that the dedicated Google Assistant button on the left can't be remapped for a different function. You can disable it but not remap it. I even like Google Assistant but I was bumping it by accident too often and there are plenty of ways to activate Google Assistant without having a dedicated button. I haven't found the hand id to work very well. I haven't used the motions for media control. The fingerprint reader and face unlock both work very well. I almost forgot to mention the audio. This phone has some crazy audio capabilities. I like the way the sound comes through the screen. It actually works well and gives better than usual volume with good clarity. The real treat comes when you use headphones! This phone has a quad-digital to analog converter and audio does sound very good from it! You can turn on 3D if you want for a fuller sound. It also comes with an app that will let you record at up to 24bit 192khz! Anyway, I've found this to be a great phone with some cool extras and am very happy I chose the LG G8 ThinQ!

Color makes for a rich sleek look. Easy to handle. Love the speaker and camera. Width of phone fits easier in the hand. Phone does slide easily on all surfaces. Even flat ones so definitely needs a case.

Love this phone it is amazingly smooth it's fast and the design is gorgeous. The audio is miles ahead of the rest and the camera is good it could be better but it's still good. The camera takes a while to capture pictures sometimes and the exposures can be bad in auto mode but I know the Manuel mode is there for more options and possibly better pictures

I'll never over pay for a phone again! Made the switch from Samsung s8+ cuz I cracked it after 3 years. Samsung makes great phones and I've used them since s3. But, unfortunately they have outpriced me. On to the LG G-series phones. This is a pleasant surprise. I got this at a discount and was hoping to get by with this phone til the s20 prices dropped. But, I'm pleasantly surprised. The g8 thinQ is all the phone I'll need. Fast, responsive, photo quality is more than enough for my purpose and the audio is the best I've experienced in ANY phone. I've put this phone to some serious use in the short time that I've owned it. My only complaint is that I should have waited for the LG g9!

I was overduef or a phone upgrade. Couldn't pass up the deal best buy had....300.00 dollars off and a 50.00 best buy gift card. The phone takes great pictures. It is pretty fast, has a great design, and works well. LG makes great products, and this is one our them.

I love lg phones. They are overlooked by the masses going with the other big names. This phone has a nice camera sharp vibrant display and real 3d face unlock with face safe technology. You aren't limited to the face unlock either lg has also kept the fingerprint scanner as well as palm hand if as well. The phone is very fast and a overall excellent performer. You get this all at a fraction of the cost of the other big names and a 2 year lg warranty to go along with it.

Phone has great color and camera. Battery seems to last all day. Only thing I didn't like about the phone was it seems the reception is not good.

Had this phone for almost a month now. It is a lot faster than my old Google Pixel 2 XL. The plus is the 3.5mm headphone jack. It takes great photos and video.

Have had LG G series phones since G6 and G8 is no exception. OLED screen is bright even under the sun. Nice and slim, too. My only complain is Verizon charges over $800 with the contract...

Good quality phone but I wish the battery lasted a little longer. If it did, I would definitely have given this 5 stars! Easy to use, great photos and videos!

I've been using an original Pixel for the last four years until it went into a continuous reboot cycle. This phone is a bit larger physically which takes a bit a getting used to but I'm loving the larger memory. Haven't really had it long enough to give a more in depth analysis. I've had a G2 and G4 in the past and my wife is currently using a G7 so I was familiar with the line before ordering and have been very happy with my LG phones in the past. Plus I got it on a great sale.

Works perfect, except for hand gestures are not so good. Love LG and their 2 year warranty. Be sure to go to LG.com and register within 30 days.
