I am impressed by the reliable and speedy data transfer performance of my new LG SATA DVD Writer Disc Drive. I am glad that the connection to my laptop was made simple with only an added SATA Hard Drive cable Adapter, so I was able to use the LG DVD Drive immediately to install my required Computer device DVD driver discs.

Really like this optical drive. Super easy to install.

Needed to replace my dvd-rom in my computer, Best Buy was convenient on my purchase of computer parts.

I bought this because my parents wanted a cheap replacement optical drive to use in their computer. It serves that purpose, however there are two issues I have with the drive. It's slow to eject and, despite the image, does not have LightScribe.

Having used up my prior DVD drive (I do a LOT of reading and burning of CDs and DVDs) I finally needed to get a replacement. This item was reasonably priced, easy to install and runs quickly, quietly and reliably. In addition, the drive closes automatically if left unattended too long, which is a good way to protect the mechanism. I give it an excellent rating!

I needed a good quality DVD rom for my new computer that was compatible with the newer sata connectors. I found this one online and bought it for store pickup. I installed it that night when I got home. It was very easy to install and my new computer recognized it with out the need to use the included disc. It reads every disc that I have thrown at it and am very pleased with the speed and quality of this drive. I would recommend it to a friend looking for a new main drive or secondary drive for their computer.

This particular LG internal CD<DVD Writer works just fine without added software. But be aware that an external should be considered for a few reasons. It won't take an added bay in your build unless your just replacing and the external are just so thin quite and easier to use with other systems.

I wanted a decent CD player and something I could plug inside my computer and not think about. There are newer and different external CD players but this one was enough to play music and I wouldn't have to worry about plugging in and putting away with this internal one. Hardest part is install and even then it is not too bad. I like it, nice to have a Computer case that allows for a internal CD player.

Purchased as a replacement for a customer's drive that had failed. Worked well right out of the box, allowing customer to again read optical discs. NOTE: The box DOES NOT include any cables. Ensure you have a SATA cable and SATA power connector in the machine you are installing this in, or you will need to purchase them.

The LG DVD/CD RW represents a very good value at it's price point. It's stable, reliable and the software that it comes with just simply works. Installation was a breeze - it took longer to get my failed (mechanically) DVD out than it did to install this new one!

This drive fit the drive bay on my Dell 4700. All mounting screws lined up same as the old drive. It installed easily and provides good performance. My system detected this drive and installed the drivers automatically. Quiet drive.

I searched long and hard for this drive. I wanted my machine to read and write at a fast speed. A well as take a shaking from my family being not so gentle with my tech. Old idea of give it a smack then it will work will never leave my father titan hands. Especially when I was loading my Window OS of the drive and said, "Its going too slow. I'll fix it." Walks over and smacks it and the disks shutters. My pc moves almost off my stand and my eyes go red. The last time he did that on my previous drive the disk unmounted and shredded the disk until I opened the drive bay. Still brand new but the extra software always asks for changes on my computer. That is the only reason why i didn't give it a 5. Shark bait! Whoo ha ha!

This was a replacement drive for my HP computer. Easy installation, great price and works great. My husband had previously purchased one for his computer about a year ago, so we knew when mine went this was the one.

Being a novice computer tech I am always hesitant about replacing equipment. When my old drive failed I was forced to replace it. This drive slipped right in, was instantly recognized, and runs smoothly.

No problems playing any DVD's I have. Movies or to install something. Quiet also. Great for the price. And easy to install.

It's fast, easy to install, and durable. Had several of these over the years, and they're still as reliable as ever. You can find them cheaper in online warehouses, but for an immediate need, they're great.

Fast and easy setup. I only go with LG for cd rewriters. Fast Transfer and quiet. Delivery was fast. Does not come with SATA cable.

Bargain price for fully functioningz/ CD player. One very little LED signal lamp for ‘on..’ Works intuitively like other DVD players. It fulfills my ordinary expectations very satisfactorily.

It had a lightscribe photo on webpage and still to this day almost A YEAR later, it still does AFTER I brought it to BB attention. I thought I would be getting that feature, replacing my existing LS DVD drive, but I didn't. THIS IS NOT A LIGHTSCRIBE FEATURED DVD player ignore that logo on the photo. There, now YOU know. So, I am back to sharpies to mark and label my supply of perfectly good LightScribe media, but at least it burns well, quickly, and consistently. It is also considerably quieter than my old Lite-On DVD burner drive. 4 Stars only, because of the lack of truth, in their website advertising. FIX the photo folks.

Built a computer for a friend and needed a cheap optical drive so this was perfect. Installed with no issues and was playing and burning DVDs within 10 minutes.
