I loved my first G502 Hero so much I bought a second one. My first one lasted a long time under heavy use, but it began to have problems holding down the right click and double clicking the left click. I bought this second one expecting the same quality that I knew from the first and right out of the box I am disappointed. The mouse is undeniably cheaper, weaker buttons, flimsier scroll wheel, no sleeve on the cable, and cheaper plastic all around. I would not have minded any of these things if it was branded as a different model, but expecting the same product that I had previously bought I feel cheated.

That's truly unfortunate and sorry about the negative experience. Please try plugging the device into a different USB port on your computer or try updating the device's firmware through the Logitech G Hub software. After owning a competing brand's mouse for a few years, I decided to upgrade my mouse as I had always heard great things about Logitech products. The mouse initially has a good feel to it, with the options to add weights to it to customize it more to your liking. The software for this mouse allows you to change the LED lighting settings, preset DPI options, and what the buttons on the mouse do. Overall pretty standard for a "gaming" mouse. However, I have had a fair amount of issues with the left clicking button. I play a fair amount of online FPS and I started noticed a weird issue. During the middle of me holding down the left button to interact with a weapon, my weapon spray would just stop. At first I just discounted it as a glitch in the game as the mouse was virtually brand new at that point and the only time I experienced the issue was in that game. At this point, the mouse is unusable. When I try to click on some things, the computer will think I am double clicking. If i try to drag things across windows the mouse will stop sending signals to the computer causing frustration. It happens at random so I might be able to drag something successfully or it might stop sending signal after I drag it a quarter inch across the screen. At this point, I can't recommend this mouse. If you do your own research and look for "Logitech G502 clicking issues" you will find tons of results with the same or similar issues as mine. I have now gone back to using my old mouse and have reached out to Logitech's customer support multiple times to hear resolution but have came up dry each time.

4 months and the scroll wheel is glitching out. This is a common issue with these. The infinite scroll will go down then jump back up. It's very annoying and should've been fixed years ago. Otherwise I love the size and feel of this mouse. The only other mouse I'd consider is the Razer Basilisk but the Razer is a little longer so keep that in mind if you don't like long mice.

Software makes this mouse unusable for me. To be clear the hardware is fine, but after the most recent updates the side buttons, which I map to movement in my games, have 3 to 5 second input delay. You can just google g502 hero side button delay, and you will see I am not the only one. As this was my go to mouse I had even bought spares and can confirm it is indeed not the hardware. I used to have a download of g hub from mid 2023, unfortunately my g hub updated, and the mouse is once again unresponsive and unusable for me. I am sad to say I will be forced to buy a mouse from a different brand, as I cannot buy a logitech mouse until they fix the software it uses.... I was hoping to hold out for a fix, but this has persisted for months, with multiple updates not addressing the issue.

This mouse is great hardware wise. Buttons have a nice feel, nice tracking, plays well. HOWEVER, the software KILLS this mouse. GHub is just horrible. Button assignments are a complete joke and is impossible to get them to act correctly. When you go to play a game, you realize NONE of your button assignments work because the mouse has switched into on-board memory. It does this randomly inside or outside of games. In on-board memory mode the mouse is just TRASH. No matter what profile I used the button assignments wouldn't stick. Why can't I just make my profile DEFAULT and NEVER CHANGE (PERSISTENT PROFILE MEANS NOTHING)?! Why can't I disable on-board memory mode?! Why can't I get my button assignments to WORK reliably?! So inside the software there is DEFAULT, G-SHIFT and ON-BOARD. Each one can hold different button assignments. The mouse randomly switches between all of these and 1/3 of them DO NOT WORK. Want to use a macro? IMPOSSIBLE WITH THIS MOUSE. You will be ALT-TAB'ing out of your game for 10 minutes each time to restart the software to get your button assignments to work. I tried making them ALL THE SAME so no matter what it switched to they would all be the same, right? NOPE. That did not work either. You can add all of your games to their own profile, didn't help me. You can assign profiles to on-board memory, that didn't help either. The software killed this mouse, It's the worst mouse software I've ever used. RETURNED.

Hello DRob! Sorry to hear you're having issue with your G502 HERO Wired Optical Gaming Mouse. What I could recommend you is creating a new profile in G Hub, so from the Home Screen, at the top where it would say Active Profile Default, click on that, then click the "+" sign to create a new profile and work your assignments off of. The other thing you might want to check, is making sure the on-board memory option is turned off, so from the Home Screen off G Hub again, click on your peripheral picture, then at the top right, you'll see a small "gear" icon, click on that, and make sure on-board memory is off. If that doesn't solve the issue, maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the software, there could be something wrong in the settings, but your G502 mouse should definitely hold up your configurations in-game. - Mathieu from Logitech

I purchased this mouse as well as another logitech G series mouse around the same time for two different computers. For the first 6 months it was a great mouse, probably the best sensor I've ever experienced in a mouse. The software is unintrusive and the button mappings stick if you software is closed (not even running in the background). The problem starts with both mice, and another one I own (3 in total) all exhibiting the double click issue 6-10 months into ownership. What happens is you click the mouse, and it behaves as if you're double clicking. Logitech having an outbreak of these issues also makes the process of getting them replaced borderline impossible so its simply best to avoid them.

(See my other reviews on this matter) Clicking was sporadic selecting was a nightmare. Returned this and got the 703 which also had this anomaly. Bought the Corsair DARK CORE RGB PRO and have not had any issues since. I thought it was WIndows 10, had arguments with Micosoft about it. Turns out is either Logitech Mice, or their software. Done with Logitech after more then 20 years of being a Fanboy of their Mice and Keyboards.

This mouse seems to work well in every way. It's comfortable and responsive. However I hate the hard plastic mouse wheel. It feels like I constantly struggle to scroll with it. So much so that I will probably keep it as a backup or just give it away. My last mouse was a corsair and it had a nice soft rubber wheel that I could grip well.

When working found it one of the best gaming mice in terms of accuracy and feel. After about 9 months of using it the left mouse button would randomly stop working. I have used only logitech products for the better part of the last 10 years and it seems the quality and quality control has went down hill in the past few years. I have had 3 different logitech products fail with in the past 2 years and from what i am seeing so far the warranty is useless, make it hard to find and submit a warranty and try to make you jump through hoops with bots, poor communication, and no direct reply. Done with logitech will start using a different company from now on.

Totally NOT worth the price. Received mouse on July 21 and broken by Thanksgiving. Worst mouse I have ever had, also the most expensive mouse I have ever had. Buyer be ware!! Purchased this mouse based on recommendations from a gaming buddy. When I told him about the problems I am having he just said that he has had the same issues, but to a lesser degree. Yes it looks cool. However, even with all of the weights attached to the mouse it slides much to easily on my Hyper mouse pad. The left button does not work correctly. Cannot drag anything or copy items as it will not "hold" onto the item. Also, just one "click" results in multiple "clicks". As you can imagine, this is very annoying, frustrating and a waste of time.

I have been through 3 of these G502 mice in the last year and a half. All of them suffer from defective clickers. The left and right mouse buttons will often extra click, when you only want to click once. Or if you hold down the button it thinks you only wanted to click it once. Claiming a warranty on the mice is a terrible process and takes months, and only after their support makes you jump through 100 troubleshooting steps, and require you to video record you destroying the mice. This is such a common problem for G502's that it has turned into a JOKE. Logitech should be ashamed of their disgusting product reliability. I will never buy another Logitech product again, I am moving over to Corsair for everything. Stay away from Logitech products, you have been warned!

Hello Gui4life! I'm so sorry to hear about your double-clicking issues on three of our G502 Hero mice! There are a couple different ways to fix this issue. One is to double check for any updates in G Hub. The other is to go to Windows Settings - File Explorer Options - General tab - Select "Single-click to open an item" - Apply - Select "Double-click to open an item" - Apply - Okay. This should fix double clicking issues. I understand that you shouldn't have to go through this but this is what seems to work until we fix the issue. Thank you so much for this feedback! I will continue to pass the G502 double click issues along. - Maggie from Logitech G

After a month and no longer able to exchange, the device starting double clicking. It's not consistent, but occurs frequently. I contacted Logitech support and thus far have sent them my support ticket, my receipt, model number, S/N on the box, a picture of the serial number on the cord and now they want me to video my machine on a third party website and send that. I have had worse experiences, but not many. I am pretty sure I might have to submit a 23 and me profile next. Compared to other of the "bigs" in peripherals this is the worst experience I have had.

Much better options. This mouse would be amazing for finger grippers but palm grippers will find it feels awkward and fatiguing after about an hour. Hinders my overall performance and wouldn't recommend for people who grip with their entire palm.

The mouse itself felt good but LG hub software was terrible and ended up frying my mouse. I had the mouse set to use screen sampling for the RGB and it almost never worked. Nearly everytime booting up my PC, I would have to reset the application if I wanted the rgb to work properly. Today, same issue went to restart the application, but I noticed a firmware update for the mouse, I clicked yes and did not unplug the mouse or power off my PC. Next thing I know I got an error that the update failed and my mouse began blinking. LG hub wouldn't recognize the mouse, and it the mouse stopped working entirely - there's no factory reset that I can do. Save yourself the headache and money, buy a mouse from a better brand.

Second mouse(replaced under warranty) failed with right click issues, logitech won't replace it because its been 2 years since I bought the original. Don't bother with model if you play a lot of FPS games, the right click button will develop an issue where it will constantly click unless you hold firm pressure on the button. If you even let up on the button at all, even with it still depressed it will register clicks. It makes it impossible to use scopes in some games. Best buy still lists this as a 3 year warranty but logitech says 2. Logitech even came out with a firmware update to address the issue but it does nothing

After 4 months of casual gaming, the right click doesn’t work all of the time. After 6 months, the left click no longer functions all of the time. Imagine any time you have to hold either click down and it registers 3-6 clicks instead of one long one.. totally unreliable after a very short time. I’m not even a pro gamer or a streamer. I play overwatch at night after work, and now I can’t play most hero’s because my mouse won’t let me properly or reliably use certain weapons or functions. This mouse is just garbage and the company that sells it has a garbage website that does not handle warranty’s very efficiently. I doubt I will be able get a replacement. I regret choosing Logitech and do not recommend the brand for gaming.
