It looks reallly cool but the sound can be alittle off at times. Holds a good charge and is loud! :)

Sound is great and has nice design. One downside I noticed was that it can feel quiet in larger areas or outdoors. I guess that’s why there are larger options but it works well for me

Very expensive for what you get, dont get me wrong it doesnt sound bad per se, but its not exactly on JBLs level of audio production for portable speakers, if you like the quirky design and the Marshall name, go for it, otherwise stick to JBL.

I read reviews on this speaker so i got it and maybe i expected to much but i wasn't impressed. It is a cordless, bluetooth speaker and the sound is good but it is a wimp when it comes to volume and blowing me away.We took it back and i got the step up and love that 1.It has to be plugged in but to me worth it for the sound. It is Bluetooth.

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the Kilburn II. The Tufton is a great portable speaker, a larger model that can put out larger audio.

Great sound. I had to return both since bluetooth kept acting up. It would be connected to a device and no sound would come out. It happened to both of the kilburns i got. Couldnt deal with that flaw

Not a lightweight portable which might lead one to think this can really blast the music which is fairly acceptable for digital sound. The knobs on top are not "fine" tuning so you really don't get the precision for bass and treble. The sound is good but the price tag is all name and style.

Hello, thank you for your feedback and review. We suggest trying the Acton II Bluetooth, Stanmore II Bluetooth or the Woburn II Bluetooth: these speaker use the Marshall Bluetooth app which offers you a customizable equalizer along with other features.

Greate quality of the speaker materials. High quality sound. Could be louder. Would be nice to have Pause button on it. On the worst part - it is died today. Will be testing return/exchange policy.

Hi Alex, thank you for your review. While the speaker doesn't have a pause button, most music players will so it is possible to quickly pause your tunes. Please try a factory reset and see if that sorts out the issue. If not, please follow-up with support@marshallheadphones.com for assistance.

I was so excited for this speaker and unfortunately it just kind of fell short of expectations. It's definitely a decent speaker and you can't beat it aesthetically. But I just couldn't justify keeping it for that price point. The sound was not really so much better than UE Boom. A little better bass, a little more well-rounded. But honestly, I was hoping for more for the price. I recommend either getting a cheaper portable speaker or upgrading to a different model for better sound. Otherwise, only go for it if the look is worth it to you.

After HomePod mini it is quite difficult to use it. I think you just need more time. But would not buy again, it’s more as home decor for me

Hello Arina, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you find the Kilburn II difficult to use. The Kilburn II is a Bluetooth speaker that does not have Voice control, this means it will require more interaction to use than a voice speaker. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will consider Marshall again in the future.

Great quality but the Max volume is underwhelming.

Thank you for your review. Depending on how you are connecting your speaker, whether it is Bluetooth or Aux, the profile of the volume will be different. This will also depend on the device you are listening with. The Kilburn II does have a sound pressure level of 100.4 db, which can be quite loud in many circumstances. Speakers in the is category will often have an SPL of 90 - 100 db, this means that the Kilburn II will be on par or even beat many speakers in terms of max volume in this class. We do have other options which will have a higher rating as well as perceived loudness, such as the Tufton by Marshall. All speakers will be tuned to the maximum possible loudness without causing distortion or damage, either to the ear or equipment. Also, please note that the speaker will be amplifying the signal coming from the phone or music devices. This means that if the phone or devices does not have much amplification from its DAC or there is an impedance issue (this will often happen with physical connections, like aux) the volume may be lower than expected. Please test the speaker with a few devices, and also please check your phone to see if there are any hearing protection settings enabled. Also, the amplification of the Kilburn will be independent of the volume coming from the phone as they are not digitally synced, this means that the volume of the phone as well as the volume of the speaker will need to both be adjusted to find that right sound. All of this being said, Marshall does really appreciate your input and feedback. Best Buy also wishes to offer the most satisfactory devices for their customers. Take care, and keep Rockin! All the best :)

This was one of our all time favorite portable speakers until it suddenly died less than a year in. Geek Squad warranty replacement was seamless, and the identical replacement works perfectly so far.

Bought as a gift for my daughter. Looks great, sounds OK. Battery life is good.

Hey Fred, thanks for the review. If you are looking for more audio, the Tufton is a larger portable model that will offer a bigger sound.

Impressive sound quality. Unimpressive base response. I would not recommend this model for those who are trie audiophiles.

Hey Bryan, if you are looking for more bass, give the Tufton a try.

Marshall Killburn II great portable speaker. Used it everytime I’d go to shower.

This speaker when it works properly is great. The volume is average, I expected a louder speaker. Over all quality is average. For some reason the speaker disconnects from phone then reconnects
Posted
Are there any other devices connected to the speaker? Try a factory reset and see if that helps with the disconnections.

The first thing I noticed about the Kilburn Portable Bluetooth Speaker besides was the weight and size of the speaker. If you are looking for a truly portable bluetooth speaker, you probably wouldn’t want to lug this around with you to the beach or a picnic. Given the size and weight, I expected a speaker that would blow me away with its power, but that wasn’t the case. I found the sound to be a bit tinnier than I expected. The bass was not very strong even when I turned the dial all the way up. When I did turn it all the way up, it sounded muffled. One of the other things I look for in a Bluetooth speaker is how it performs at lower volumes. In that respect it performed very well. I found that when I used this speaker for background music, it was clear and sharp but there are many speaker options that will give you that kind of performance at half the size and a lower price. The bottom line is that if you like the nostalgic look of this speaker, then you may not mind it’s below par performance for the price. But if you want a great sounding speaker with some power that is easy to carry around with you, there are probably better options out there for you to consider.
