This speaker has a surprising amount of power and bass for its size. This allows it to sound very good relative to its size. I purchased this speaker to place in my ‘63 Ford Falcon so I can have music without making drastic modifications to my interior. The build quality of this unit seems top notch for the price category, though I don’t know if I can go as far as saying it’s tough. I choose not to test those limits, and though I do carry it around regularly, I am always mindful of protecting its good looks. There is a premium to be paid for those good looks and I believe the same amount of money could go further with a less eclectic choice. Expensive and rare, but perfect for some people.

Excellent speaker. The sound is so soothing for the ear. I have given 4 stars because the battery life is NOT 20+ hours at medium volume as company proclaims.

The first thing you'll notice about the Kilburn 2, is the quality. This speaker is one of the nicest bluetooth speakers that I've seen yet. The Kilburn 2 is made out of high quality material, all throughout the entire box. From the metal grill in the front, to the leather casing around the speaker. It really gives that look and feel of the classic Marshal brand, plus, its packed with some of the latest technology. With that being said, I'm not sure I would agree with the way they designed some of the parts of the speaker. Such as, the volume knob and the placement of the bass, but I will get more in depth with that later on. The Sound of the Kilburn 2 is good, it tends to sound a little muddy at times, but nothing major. The Kilburn 2 reaches extremely loud volumes, as well as pack some heavy bass. The only problem with the bass is, (depending on where you place it) you either hear way too much bass, or not enough bass. I found that the Kilburn 2 sounds best, when it's placed on a bookshelf near a wall. This creates a good position to bounce off some of the bass. The Kilburn 2 is loaded with many great features. One of the best features, is the 20+ hrs of battery life for long play times (which it really does last that long). Another great feature, is bluetooth 5.0, which lets you stream wirelessly over longer distances, as well as stream to multiple sources at once. Then there's the knobs, the volume, bass and treble. While the bass and treble knobs are very welcome, the volume knob is more of an inconvenience. I do see why they added this, but trying to combine nostalgia with modern technology, takes away from the portability factor of bluetooth. This becomes an issue, when you turn the knob all the way up and plan to control the volume with your phone - the volume becomes distorted. Therefore, you must fine tune the knob to your liking, which in my case, requires walking over to the bookshelf. Overall, the Kilburn 2 if a great bluetooth speaker with only a few minor flaws. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality bluetooth speaker.

I still have an iPod Classic, and wanted to play it by line out connection rather than Bluetooth. It gets a little cluttered using old fashioned cables but just sounds great. I also tested using Bluetooth with my iPhone 7+ and a borrowed 10x. Bluetooth does improve with a newer phone. I still cling to my line out iPod, but a newer phone makes a big difference in sound quality. Great sound out of a stylin’ unit!

I really like how portable this speaker is, and the battery life is impressive. I usually run it for 1–2 hours at a time while cooking, and I only need to recharge it every 2–3 weeks. The volume is solid within 5–10 feet, though it doesn’t carry well across my 2,500 sq. ft. house, even at max volume. My only real complaint is the sound it makes when connecting or reconnecting to Bluetooth—it can get a little annoying, especially since both my girlfriend and I have our phones paired and it triggers randomly when we move around. Other than that, the sound quality is excellent, I love being able to adjust the bass and treble, and the design looks great. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it.

Nice clear, crisp sound. Be ready to play with the bass and treble knobs for each particular type of music. Sometimes even song to song, as some are bass heavy, but the speaker itself is not really bass heavy. If you turn up the bass it drowns out some treble due to lack of more speakers which is a option offered in the more expensive middleton. Dont quote me but i believe this one has two where that one has four? Battery life is great, I even linked it to my tv to use as a better speaker option than the tv speakers. Pairs well with a phone for music or show/ movie watching as well as a laptop. Didnt test it with the nintendo switch, but im certain some games will sound better on it. So why the A minus? Its a little big to be carrying, packing. Its so nice, you are scared to ruin it. (Leather like texture). The duel of treble and bass coming from two speakers gets muddy at louder volumes, this is solved with reducing the bass or treble so it limits competition. Lastly, when you pause music or stop playing it for a bit it cuts off. Theres no way to turn this feature off. So if im listening to the game or a song and someone calls, and i take the six minute call, when the call is over, if i hit play the speaker doesnt pick right back up. You have to go to the speaker and either turn it off and back on using the volume knob, or hold the bluetooth button down to basically wake the soeaker and then it connects back to the source. Minimal annoyance, but its there. They may have improved these things on the three but i wasnt forking out that kind of money (379) for it. I wish i got tbe middleton as well to compare the two. I may get it just to see how it goes against this one.

This speaker is great, solid bass, and great sound quality throughout the entire volume range. I also notice the sound felt surrounding. Battery life lasts for a long time, I packed and unpacked a house on one battery charge (I packed the cord). The only thing that could use improvement is the bluetooth. It can be spotty with movement and didn't do well with multiple devices connected. Overall this is a speaker i would get again.

The Marshall Kilburn II portable speaker delivers powerful sound and classic style, earning it a solid 4 out of 5-star rating. The audio quality is impressive, producing rich and dynamic sound with deep bass and clear highs. Its compact size makes it easy to carry around, perfect for on-the-go use. The retro design adds a touch of nostalgia and elegance to any space. The battery life is decent, providing hours of playback on a single charge. While it falls just shy of a perfect rating due to minor issues like the lack of water resistance, the Marshall Kilburn II is a fantastic choice for music lovers who appreciate both exceptional sound and timeless aesthetics.

Hello Athul, thanks for the review. A quick note to mention that the Kilburn II has a water resistance rating of IPX2, it is resistant to some water which adds to its ruggedness and suitability for going everywhere with you.

This was a warranty replacement for an identical speaker that was less than a year old. not happy that the other one suddenly died for no reason and with no warning, but Geek Squad service was great, and the speaker itself is pretty much perfect for what we wanted. Loud enough for all but a party, good sound, decent bluetooth range, nice form factor. Hopefully this one lasts.

We love the compact and simple design of this unit. It sounds great for the size and connecting to the unit through Bluetooth is simple. Battery once fully charged is great, it performed as advertised. Would/already have recommend this product.

This little speaker puts out excellent sound quality for such a small unit. On a full organ with orchestra the sound became a little "muddy" but other than that it does much better than I expected for its size. It also has no problem filling up a room that has 25 or more people in attendance.

So far I am loving this speaker! I use it every single day in a very loud metal shop where hearing protection is required and it is still very easy to hear! Even on full volume I can expect the battery to last a full 10 hour shift without plugging it in once. The only improvement I could see is adding a play/pause/skip button to the top, but I still appreciate having the bass and treble knobs to quickly adjust for my listening habits.

Good speaker, sounds great! Stick it in the corner and that bass port puts in work. Only issue is that it was missing the charging cable in the box and was brand new. A bit annoying but I’d rather buy one then process a return and get another one.

Great sound quality because it allows you to control bass and treble. The build quality and I like the fact that it plugs directly into the out and not a sun cord. The only thing I’m disappointed is that it’s not as loud as I had hoped. I Bring outside when I’m washing my car and at full volume it’s jut much louder than smaller Bluetooth speakers I own that were cheaper.

Awesome speaker. Packs a punch for how small it is. Sound quality is awesome. Deep bass. Long battery life. A little pricey but hopefully it holds up with proper care over the years. The only thing that is a little funky but still not a deal breaker: when two phones are connected via Bluetooth, the phone not playing music disconnects and reconnects often which interrupts music play. Can be quite annoying so we maintain only one phone connected at a time to remedy this issue. Other than that, it’s top notch.

This little guy can rock the house. Sound quality is great, as is the size and ease of use. Only negative would be that it is a bit pricey.

The only drawback is the weight. I was looking for a portable speaker but this is too heavy for day to day. The sound quality is the best in the size of the speaker.

Easy to use with excellent sound quality! One star docked because the sound could be a little stronger given the price.
