MartinLogan’s original Abyss subwoofer was a larger, more powerful version of the original Dynamo subwoofer. The modern Abyss Series subwoofers carry on that legacy with a new twist. Instead of simply being a larger version of Dynamo, Abyss Series subwoofers use a unique Hybrid Woofer System in order to increase performance while keeping the size to a minimum.
Abyss Subwoofers use custom, aluminum, Klippel-optimized woofers for high output and low distortion. Aluminum's light weight, high strength, and excellent heat dissipation make it ideal for use in subwoofers. The hybrid woofer system combines an active woofer with two passive radiators, delivering the output and low distortion of a ported design, while maintaining the compact size and tight bass of a sealed design.

Abyss subwoofers feature the cutting-edge Vojtko DSP engine, named after MartinLogan’s Chief Audio Technologist. With a best-in-class 500MHz DSP and 64-bit processing, it controls all aspects of subwoofer performance in real time. This level of computing power enables advanced wireless app control, integrated wireless signal connection, and other advanced functions, while providing maximum output and fidelity in any situation.
Abyss’s Anti-Vibration Feet improves bass performance by dramatically reducing the energy transfer between the subwoofer and the floor. Unwanted room rattles and buzzes are removed, leaving tighter, cleaner bass and improved system clarity and dynamics. As a less intrusive alternative to acoustic room treatments, Abyss’s integrated anti-vibration feet can also help minimize noise complaints by reducing vibration transfers into adjoining rooms.

This highly advanced software measures subwoofer performance in your room and then performs custom equalization, tuning, and calibration to achieve the highest levels of bass impact, and accuracy possible in your specific installation.
