Marty Paich - Marty Paich Trio - VINYL LP

Marty Paich became so well known as an arranger in the 1950's that his piano playing became secondary. This session for the Mode tag was Paich's only trio set. With the assistance of bassist Red Mitchell and drummer Mel Lewis, Paich plays tasteful versions of three standards, Jack Montrose's InchA Dandy LineInch and four of his own originals. The music is subtle and quiet but swinging and very enjoyable.
