I'm rating it three stars as a Microsoft product, nothing to do with Best Buy since they're just the middle-man in this transaction. Years ago I was rocking the best operating systems on my low performance PC builds maxed out at 2GB RAM and 40 - 500 gig HDDs. Windows 95 had my interest. Windows XP was my first real jump into computers, Vista... was useful, though a RAM hog, Windows 7 was and still is my favorite, then 8.... 8.1... then 10. Ugh. Let me explain something. My previous main rig was rocking Win7 Ultimate. Flawless. There's nothing I couldn't do. Any games could be installed and played, schoolwork was done, updates were installed only if the computer asked. Eventually they were disabled by my choice because it let me. No waiting times. So I was in total control. Inevitably the rig got old and slow, just barely holding on like a 15-year-old dog you loved and didn't want to put down but also didn't want it to suffer. Its eyes were going and the arthritis in its hips were making movement difficult. (sigh)... I had to make the call. It was a new and final year of college. To get through this I'd need to replace it. New parts, bigger and better everything. Two 27" curved screens to max productivity as usual. The tower was ripped out and cleaned. New motherboard, CPU, PSU, RAM, graphics card, SSD+HDD, Wifi adapter, the usual. Great... now... the OS. (wince). Wait a sec, I still have my old Windows XP installation discs! Almost done install-- ooh, BSoD during setup isn't a good sign. Okay, Vista it is. Not a whole lot works. Ah, darn... Windows 7 isn't sold anywhere, even online! That leaves me with Windows 10 then. So I get a hard disc copy of this dopey OS in the mail a few days later and it's a flawless install. Too good too be true? YES. Every stinking thing needs to be verified, Microsoft *forces* any and all updates and some take several minutes to an hour to complete. To pour salt on the wound, my version seems to be corrupt to some degree because majority of games I installed won't launch. Yeah, this OS isn't gamer friendly (you can look it up) because I think it has something to do with the third-party patches. Yes, Microsoft doesn't write all the code (surprised?) so he company packs those into the updates which I think recognize anti-pirate software as a threat and won't execute the program. By anti-pirate I mean older games which included serial codes to enter after the end of installation to make sure it's a legal copy. I've done my homework and am not alone in this issue, which is why many people on forums rely on sources which make old games available as .exe files so they're playable on this OS. There are a handful of my disc collection which are playable but they're not as exciting. In short, Windows 10 just loves treating users like we're the criminals. Forced updates, no gameplay allowed, and the company itself seems to be like Disney, a hollow shell of its former self, kept the name but dropped the quality. Come to think of it, the whole Windows OS lineup was still fun to use (amateur or pro) when they still had the 3D-ish flying logo. Remember that? Now it's ironed out flat it became kind of 'meh'.

4.5/5 Not bad, it was kind of hard to find what code to use to register the license...but the fact this is a CD doesn't really matter since you can download the installer via the Microsoft website. And besides it's cheaper (at least when I got this) than the usb version, so why not. I guess only thing is you'd have to have your own usb drive (empty) to do the installing from if you don't have a CD drive on your PC...but other than that easy to use and a cheaper alternative since windows is expensive. :T

I purchased a copy of windows 10 home not knowing what to expect. This product comes with a dvd to load the os and a certificate of authenticity to stick on your custom built pc. It was relatively easy and straight forward to install. I enjoy this os.

This particular product on best buy web page never mentioned it is a oem product. Other than that it worked exactly as expected. I did have a small quirk, no way on instructions did it mentioned where to get the key. It's a scratch off on the product label

Installed as part of an upgrade after my motherboard died. After upgrading from 7 to 10, I needed this in order to do a fresh install. This gives me the ability to upgrade my motherboard in the future. Very fast, pain free install.

Just like any new Software it is confusing but once you start playing with it the more user friendly it becomes. So go on and update it dont be scared.....MicroSoft took all of the Windows7 components that you love added some of the Better stuff from Windows8 and made them into Windows10....Their Best one Yet

Genuine Microsoft installation disk. You do have to be careful in scratching off the covering to reveal the key code. Use a coin ONLY!

Windows 10 64 bit was purchased to install on an old computer I'm updating the motherboard on, along with other upgrades. Have not assembled new hardware yet.

Had to buy this after C:\SSD drive died. Although the installation was faster and easier than the old Win10 version (free upgrade from 7), many choices we used to have are gone. I am liking the new Mail, though.

Everyone told me it was very difficult to do on a older system but I found it to be very easy and works better than it was when it was new.

I recently made the switch from Apple back to PC after 12 years. So far, I love Windows 10. 0 complaints from me.

My experience with Windows 10 after buying a full version has been a positive one. Initially I upgraded from Windows 8.1 Windows 10 and it did not work so well. After receiving my full version of Windows 10 in a very speedy and reasonable amount of time I found the installation process smooth and fast. I've had no troubles with the new installation and I actually like the Windows 10 interface better than 8.1

I was in the camp that refused to upgrade to Windows 10. I fought it until I built my first gaming computer, as Windows 10 was the only thing available. It's a very functional operating system, more flashy than I would like. Lots of extraneous features included and it always seems like its trying to sell you something. It's customization is limited as Microsoft will tell you how you want it. I wouldn't recommend this OS but what choice do we really have?

The Windows 10 instillation was easy as expected. Updates were required after installation as usual and runs smooth. Has built- in firewall and antivirus by Microsoft. Last OS I purchased was XP so these features were a nice surprise. If you are not the admin type nor care to fully control your settings and configurations this is great.
