My rating is based on the setup process and not with the service. Setting up 7-day trial was not as easy as expected. I had to spend half an hour with a customer service repo to get it setup. The Mint app is glitchy and not moving to the next step. I would still recommend Mint for its network and value.

It is not risk free. It removes your ability to get their best rates with the new customer deal, unless you get a new SIM card. Otherwise it works well to try the network or if you need a small plan for a short trip.

So yes, they have very cheap prepaid service, amazing customer service, and a great activation process which is very simple and straightforward. But there is definitely a catch, regardless of what their marketing says. The catch is that Mint has the WORST coverage and data de-prioritization I have experienced on any carrier, even T-Mobiles own prepaid service and other T-Mobiles MVNOs. The map said that the entire area I'm in has both indoor & outdoor 4G LTE coverage, but that is not the case. Tried several different LTE phones I had laying around, from a Droid 4 to a Moto X 2014 to an iPhone SE to an iPhone 5 to a Moto G7 to an Alcatel GoFlip, all of which were confirmed to be compatible, and NONE had consistent coverage anywhere near me up until I entered the bigger-city area 45 minutes away from me. The map on the site claimed that I should've had coverage everywhere. Entered my exact address and everything and it claimed there was strong coverage but I never saw a single bar of signal and customer service told me to enable WiFi calling instead of addressing my complaint about their own map and representatives claiming that I should've had coverage even though I had to drive 20 miles north to get any signal. So I mean, year, if you live in the middle of a big city, never plan on leaving the greater parts of your metro area and never plan on traveling, it's great. Otherwise you're out of luck.

After years with another provider, I don't believe the data usage is correct. Over 4 years I average 5-8 gb per month. I used up my 5 with mint within 10 days. I'll switch once the 3 months is up

I used the 1 week trial of Mint Mobile with limited minutes, texts and date. The service was fine. However, the value for the limited service was not worth it. Did not make the switch to Mint Mobile in the end.

It was difficult to activate service on phone. Had to call Mint Mobile customer service. There call representative was difficult to hear and understand. I decided not to use the service. For the price it would have been worth it if not for the above reasons.

Good to verify coverage, but not enough data to run any meaningful speed tests for 5G.

I was told this would work in Mexico. It didn't I had seven day trial and due to unforseen circumstances, I used it up in one day. i was required to buy 3 months. The goal to use on the cruise, was entirely wasted as it didn't work at all .

I use mint mobile in one of my phones, and am happy with it. But for some reason I wasn't able to set mint up in another phone using this particular card. I will try again, using another card.

Frustrating trying to set up the system with the Sim card but the service isn’t that bad set up was too much to go through. That’s why I gave it a lower rating.

Got little use out of it. It sent texts and then stopped. The company said my phone was locked. If so, how did it send any texts?

One bar service and when test with speed, it was less than 3Mbps up and 0.2 down. Call is fine. I would not recommend this for anyone living in a small town.

I was disappointed that we had no service at our house with Mint Moble. I was looking forward to try them out.
