Mint Mobile in my area is fast. I did not port my number yet, but instead got a new number. Wanted a "trial period" before going all in so I paid for the usual 3 months. Not good the first couple of days... the maps on Mint Mobile are not accurate. My Verizon phone had a strong 5g signal and the phone I had with Mint Mobile had NO CONNECTIVITY whatsoever. Everyone's experience may be different. If you don't travel a lot and can reliably get Mint Mobile service in your local area, it's a great price compared to Verizon. But Verizon has the best coverage (BUT you pay up the wazoo for it). I recommend keeping your phone number for now and trying out with a secondary phone (if you have one) with the Mint Mobile SIM. Travel around to places you normally would and bring both of your phones to compare coverage and service area.

I had to move to another carrier quick when my phone died. This was a good and inexpensive way to try Mint out. I barely got one or two bars out of five where I live in Goleta, CA. I really needed the unlimited hot spot that my old carrier had, so after trying Mint for a month, I moved back to them. I want to make note that their customer service is great. You can actually call them and they were very responsive. The Best Buy employee who finally helped me was great too. It is really hard to find an employee willing to help when almost every employee is lost in a personal conversation with the other Best Buy employees. Definitely room for improvement there. If you don’t need the unlimited hot spot (I don’t pay for internet) Mint is a great deal. Just make sure you are in a good area of their service map.

I thought I'd plan ahead and buy the SIM kit before signing up for an online special for new customers. Unfortunately, Mint doesn't have an option to register this card when you subscribe by through the promo. You have to get one mailed to you anyway. Which caused an inconvenient delay. This is not best buy's fault, it's a Mint thing. They should do better.

I didn't see it printed anyways but instead of being just a SIM, it's also a seven day free trial, at the end of which the price paid (I paid a dollar but was credited for $5) is deducted from your first purchased plan. That said, I didn't have the best service via mint mobile. I don't blame the service. T-Mobile, the backbone of this phone service, is not that large in my local market so it was difficult to have service at all. Fortunately, I was only testing service on a secondary device. IF this is a purchase for service I strongly urge you to try this for a week before taking a month, three month, year long jump into a service that may not work for you. Other than all that, I didn't find it easy to set up phone and data streams since included instructions (in the app one must download) didn't apply to my device. The device was a Pixel which is straight Android and the options I was told to choose didn't exist (My main phone is an iPhone and I didn't attempt setup on it). Set up should not be so phone-centric if that's the case. Also, being told basically how to hack data configuration to get it to work seems a bit shady as well. In the end, it didn't work for me (and I was only testing it out) so I didn't go with the service.

Great way to test Mint in your area. Card cost $2 but they give you a $5 credit toward your first month if you stick with them. You get a temp number for the trial and then if you stay with them you can port-in your own number or they'll supply you with a new one. They use the T-mobile network and I did get 5G service -- though it wasn't much faster than good LTE -- about 150 Mbps. The downside to Mint is that you have to commit for a min of 3 mos. at a time.

Read the fine print!!!. For some reason I thought the plan would be enough for a few days. I ran out of internet data really fast. It might have been me, but either way buyer beware.

The product worked. I just hoped that Best Buy would have had them in stock like normal. But this one did work, even though it appeared to have been previously opened. I did not get a discount on the purchase of previously opened product.

Used up the data in a couple of hours, lol. Service was about as good as t mobile. It's very cheap, will switch over when phones are paid off.

Its ok, worth it for visitors that need US sims or if you need a burner number. Just use it in a burner phone if you are doing that kind of stuff, IMEI is easy to track too.

I went to the Hagerstown best buy, and while the clerks were somewhat helpful, they were also, not very helpful at all. Their product knowledge if you knew what you wanted was decent but , don't go in there blindsided. I got told a phone was one price and then rung up for full price. The attendent should have been able to see the giant words on their device, only 180 with plan, 250 without. Needless to say I got my hopes up and then when I had to choose a different phone, I had to ask another person to help with the sim because the one making the sale was trying to rush me like crazy. :/

Works as intended. The network coverage is pretty fair.

Mint isn’t the easiest to switch to but it’s dirt cheap

Easy to use prepaid phone plan. I got this for my son and his first phone. The plans are well priced and competitive. My only issue is the coverage. When he's at his mother's in the country his phone signal drops out sporadically. His mother and step father's signals don't (they have Verizon).

Didn’t use everything but, it’s a nice option. Downloading, switching and, operating were very effective.

From not be into a standard cell phone carrier, I believe it quality is good. It might not be the best in the market but for its price it’s bearable.

I couldn’t get Mint Mobile to load on my phone so I thought I’d put in the SIM card. It didn’t work. The young man at Best Buy couldn’t help me either. I got it working after hours of talking Mint and ATT. It’s worth the price yo me. It’s working well now!!!

it may be good deal if you don't have a cellular plan, if you have one it is just a waste. give it to some one who may need it!.
