Amos Lee - Dreamland - VINYL LP
    5.0(3)

Vinyl LP pressing. 2022 . With one foot in the real world and the other in a charmed dimension of his own making, Amos Lee creates the rare kind of music that's emotionally raw yet touched with a certain magical quality. On his eighth album Dreamland, the Philadelphia-born singer/songwriter intimately documents his real-world struggles (alienation, anxiety, loneliness, despair), an outpouring born from deliberate and often painful self-examination. But, thanks to a palpable sense of playfulness, Dreamland embodies an unpredictable and endlessly imaginative sound-a prime showcase for Lee's warmly commanding voice and soul-baring songwriting. With the of Dreamland, Lee hopes that his songs might inspire others to live more fully and free of fear. InchOver the course of my life I've come to understand that music is my bridge to other people,Inch he says. InchI have no idea what the waters are like below that bridge-it might be lava for all I know-but music allows me to float over the whole thing and connect. To me that's the whole point of why we do this to give people something to listen to and be enveloped by the love of another human being, and just be reminded that humanity is beautiful.Inch Album Tracks 1. Dreamland 2. Worry No More 3. How You Run 4. Into the Clearing 5. Hold You 6. See the Light 7. It's Real 8. Seeing Ghosts 9. Shoulda Known Better 10. Clean 11. Invisible Oceans

Deftones - Around the Fur - VINYL LP
    4.6(12)

Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8. Dai the Flu 9. Headup 10. MX
