The Motorola MM1000 2.0 MoCA Adapter is a great choice if you want to use your home's coaxial cable wiring to provide a high-speed reliable Ethernet connection between your router and a remote device. Use the MM1000 to connect your router to an HDTV, computer, game station, wireless extender, or other device with an Ethernet port. The MM1000 offers dependable speeds up to 1,000 Mbps, typically much faster and more reliable than WiFi, and uses the same coax cable as your TV and/or Internet.
Q: Can this be used for verizon gigablast
A: It has warnings all over about no good for DirecTV and risky for Fios because they use similar frequencies to communicate with each other. Works great for my system. I turned the MOCA on for the modem and I only needed 1 MOCA box to operate. Maybe call Fios and ask them what MOCA frequency they are using for your system.
Q: What's included in the box? Are the any cables or a PoE filter? ElleMemphis
A: short network cable, short coax cable and the POE filler are included
A: It depends. Having just this adapter connected to the coax cable and to Ethernet is not enough. As a minimum you would also need MoCA-capable gateway. For instance, some Comcast-provided gateways have MoCA stuff built into them. If your modem isn't MoCA-capable then you need the second MoCA adapter like this one connected to your gateway. There're also requirements for cable drops, filtering and splitters used inside your house. Research the subject online if you need more details as there're too many to explain them here. Bottom line here is that you can get it to work for you fairly well but you must meet the technical requirements.
A: You must first have a modern and or router in order to get internet in your home. If your service is provided from Xfinity then make sure the devices you have support internet in your home. The MoCA is only a network extender; not an internet providing device such as the required modem/router.
Q: Is this a MOCA Wan, Moca Lan or both?
A: It is only Moca Lan. It is using your coaxial lines already in your home to bring a hardwired connection to a room separate form where your modem/router is.
A: This device is wired and works well with Verizon equipments.
A: It will work with any provider regardless of whether it is DSL or cable. However, ensure your modem/router is MOCA enabled, otherwise you will need to either get two of these, or get a different MOCA adapter that comes with two of them.
