Q: in the video it mentions these have GPS.. can anyone verify this ? Do they have GPS ?
A: Yes and No, its not an active gps with a screen. It links to your phone with an app. Your phone acts as the gps. You can download a gps map of an area in advance and locate yourself on it without a cell signal.
Q: wich is the best 2way radio
A: It depends on who would be using the radios and where they are while using them and what time of day or night they are using it. Can they wake up at 3 amp in an emergency and figure out how to use it? There are radios with a lot of buttons and frequencies, and some with few buttons and some radios with audible notifications that will tell you what channel you are on or tell you if you change to another channel, which wold be handy at night or in a foggy or smoke environment, but not so good if the user is hiding and wants to remain silent. These T-800 radios work like a typical moderate to easy to use radio. They can also be Bluetooth to a cellphone, download the app and if cell service is out or cell towers out of range, you can use the app on your cellphone to text message others in your group with the same type T-800 radio connected to their own cellphone, that is also running the app. You can also see where each person on the app map in your group, as long as they have a radio connected to their cellphone with the app running. We own three sets of these, so we have six of these radios. They can be used like a normal radios if they are connected to your cellphone of not. The range of any radios are always based on the location (mountains, flat lands, in a city with tall buildings or on a lake or ocean on boats, around electronics that can affect reception). Obviously on flat open areas like flat desert or in large fields or on water they should work to maximum range.
