Beautiful piece of technology, just like everything else from Dyson. A few pluses and minuses: + unique ambiance light, high quality, multiple light settings, app connected - don’t count on this as the only light source. It’s quite limited in that sense. The app needs to be restarted every time to reconnect. You’ll save a lot of time if you know this from the start. Probably more appropriate either as an ambiance light in a living room, or a bedside lamp. Which makes it quite expensive for this limited purpose.

The best light for studying, hands-down! if you are student like I am, having a overhead can light in the ceiling constantly on can damper the study mood, but this Dyson telescoping light with its functions has increase my work productivity!

Purchased the lamp to use in the stem mode as background light in the living room. Four weeks later, burnt smell is coming from the top of the lamp where it magnetically attaches to the base. Seems design defect or something.. Will return the lamp before it catches fire!

Have to get over the price, yes this is expensive. But most things Dyson are. And, sadly, floor lamps can be pricey. Once over the price, the lamp is a darn good lamp. The light is reasonably bright, the swivel head is outstanding, and that flip-the-lamp-back-around-to-face-down-the-post-glow-red look is pretty darn amazing. The biggest caveat, it is for small to medium sized rooms. Don't try to use this in a large room with cathedral ceilings, it just doesn't cast enough light. Pointing the light upward for ambient light, only works with eight foot ceilings. Now the bad, the app is totally worthless. All that advertising stuff about user age, location, and time of day - baloney. The light is so infinitely adjustable that those tweaks do nothing. Touching the controls on the top are far easier than opening up the app to do not much. Honestly, I set all those things and have used the lamp from afternoon to late night and see absolutely no change in the intensity or color of the lamp. The motion detector system is awful. It is either far too sensitive or not sensitive enough. If you walk near it, the thing turns on. If you sit still for not a terribly long time, the thing turns off. Oddly, watching television, or talking on the phone, or working on a laptop, you won't move enough to keep it turned on. And you can't adjust the sensitivity or the time the lamp stays on. One thing that needs finer adjustment, motion control, and Dyson leaves out control for that. And the warranty. It is horrible. Don't ever make a warranty claim. You have to ship it back before they will send you a new one. There's no option to have them ship you one and return the broken one in the shipped box. So you're stuck paying UPS to pack the thing for you, happen to have a box big enough to ship it, or keep the original box. It is by far the worst customer service for any company. Even with the bad, I still like this lamp. It isn't everything Dyson says it is, but it still works well. And style / price, only you can judge that equation.

This is a quality fixture with neat tech features. The light has a dimmable, warm white to daylight color range, It also features motion sensor so it automatically turns on when approaching it in darker settings. The light arm rotates down for reading and tasks, up for ambient room lighting, and anywhere in between. One of the coolest features is the magnetic docking to the stand. The Dyson app is also very slick and allows Bluetooth connection for a range of control features. The light is pricey for sure, but it is quality and if you're looking for a specific modern look like I was, it's a great item to consider.

This unit COSTS! don’t get me wrong, but the reason the cost so much is because this unit was meant to last 60 years, that’s right 60 years. This is supposed to mean that you will not be buying any additional lightbulbs for this unit and this is where the money is saved, not to mention with the way this unit was built and engineered you can maneuver or point the light in any direction you want. You probably don’t think about light much at all, but this unit actually provides you with the best amount of light so your eyes will definitely benefit from this and will be better in the long run especially if you’re a reader. This unit tracks the amount of light outside so always provides you with the best appropriate light for your eyes and the safest amount given the time of day. There is just no other product like this one and it’s definitely worth the investment.

We were concerned about spending this much money on a floor lamp. But since we are big fans of Dyson products, we decided to try it out. It is amazing - it allows you to use it in so many ways. Bright light, cool mood lighting, spot light, you can create whatever you want. The Dyson app is great and allows me to adjust the lamp easily

The light looks even better in person than it does in the pictures. Very versatile. The ambient lighting option is really nice as just an accent light. The materials and construction are high quality. The base is fairly heavy and the light won't easily tip over if accidentally bumped.

We bought this right when COVID-19 started and it was still cold out as a task light for puzzles which this does an outstanding job with. The "light saber" effect of the light is my favorite and when Dyson is able to get these back in stock my wife and I want two more for our bedroom. Are they expensive? Yes, they are but we believe in Dyson quality and design and are fine with the long term investment.

Massively overpriced, but... One of my favorite piece in the house. A lot of really cool features that are completely overshadowed by the aesthetic.

Light is bright and connects to your mobile. Although you’re paying a premium massive price, it will be worth it. Light is quite weak when the light shines through the stand. The dyson app is probably the highlight! The setup was very simple. They design it so as you pull out the lamp pieces, you’re assembling them. I want to get a second one but $$.

What an amazin lamp. I dont think I could see me spending close to 1K again. I am extremely happy with it. It really looks incredible in the bedroom for reading and background light. I love it. I really do but, its quite steeped. Well worth it you can spare the pocket money.

I like the Dyson light, it has nice features and functions. I especially like the auto sensor that detects movements and turns on. A bit pricey though.

The assembly of the light was simple and the operation and function are as advertised. We've been using it for a week and have had no issues.

Incredibly bright and nice looking lamp. The USB-port is also very convenient but does kill the high end design you're paying for.

Great lighting quality and connectivity to Dyson app is fun, but it is expensive.
