Q: What is the best wireless router out there at an affordable price?
A: The AC1200 router appears to be N- and G-compatible. It's hard to go wrong with Netgear; I've always had good results with their equipment.
Q: can a slow internet feed go faster? or is that wishful thinking!
A: No. Your internet speed will be unchanged. However, you will be able to use WiFi to transfer files from one computer to another in your house or watch HD videos recorded on one computer on another computer in your house. You may also have WiFi security cameras or baby monitors you want to watch on your PC while you are home and this will handle the higher data rate required.
Q: Best router for a two story, two BR apt.
A: Routers work best if installed in the highest of the locations. Definitely somewhere on the upper floor. Front or back shouldn't make a difference, though middle would be best.
