I use the great Nikon 70-200mm vrll and this TC-20E III 2x converter gives me a little better reach for some wildlife shots. It performs great, auto focus and all, yes you lose a few stops but using it with the f2.8 you can afford it. It is an affordable option for 400mm. What I especially like about it is it is easy to carry in your bag and if you need it, use it. Someday I may be able to justify and afford a large super telephoto, but for now this works just fine.

This teleconverter works perfectly as advertised with the above mentioned lens. I maintain full sharpness and only losing 2 stops of light with this lens combo. You will need to research to see if your lens will work with this converter though. I am thoroughly happy with my purchase.

I've used the TC-20E III with a Micro-Nikkor 105mm, 70-200mm f/4, and a 200-500mm f/5.6. The best application was the Micro-Nikkor 105mm because with its f/2.8 aperture it was fast enough to handle the loss of light when using the teleconverter. It works OK with the 70-200mm f/4 but with the 200-500mm it doesn't autofocus. Of course, you lose some sharpness and contrast when used with slower f/5.6 lens. If I had more long f/2.8 or f/4 lenses, I'd use it more than the limited use I have for it now. In the future I plan on purchasing a Nikon 300mm f/4 PF, I hear that this teleconverter works well with that lens.

The Teleconverter is lightweight and easily attached to my Nikon D3200 camera. However, it would not attach to any of my Nikon lenses. Was very disappointed in that.

This is an ok product. Compared to the other teleconverters from Nikon, it is not that sharp. The 1.4, and 1.7 are much sharper than this. I did not see any auto-focus problems. It was tack-on in all situations. Give it plenty of light, it performs, but in low light situations, this struggles to perform in terms of sharpness.

I read many, many reviews, most of which warned that the TC-20E III can not shoot tack sharp with the 70-200mm f/4 lens. I did my own test in my home and confirmed the reviews I read. Without the TC the f/4 is every bit as sharp as the f/2.8. With the TC the lens can take good photos, NOT tack sharp. Also, unlike pro-rated Nikon lenses this TC did not feel durable. I took it back for a refund. Best Buy service is great. I would not recommend the TC-20E III for the 70-200mm f/4. I would for the 70-200mm f/2.8.

Bought this converter to go along with our 200-500 mm telephoto lens to enlarge the capabilities of the lens. Auto focus does not work well with this but other than that works nice

If you are in nikon ecosystem and have any pro level telephoto lens. This teleconverter will enhance your photography. I use this for astro and wildlife with 70-200 f/2.8

Bought this to use with a Nikon 300mm 2.8 Lens. AS I shoot mostly birds in the field, thought this to be a great solution to selling the house to buy a prime 600mm lens. Have found that to be the case, you will not be disappointed.

Bought this for my 400 2.8E and it works great. Focus is still fast and my pictures are still sharp.

Very good option for a small aperture lens. Works good with Nikon lens but not on any other brands even if they are Nikon mounts.

1.4 would of been better but as long as you have enough light its good

Using the teleconverter with my 70-200 f2.8 vr2 lens, within 30 feet from the subject, the teleconverter worked great. Beyond 30 feet pictures were not sharp.
