The MX880 is a 4-zone, 8-channel Class D amplifier for residential and commercial distributed audio systems that need reliable power across multiple rooms. Each channel is rated at 80W into 4 ohms and 50W into 8 ohms, and every zone includes a bridge switch that combines both channels into a single 160W output at 8 ohms for larger spaces or 70V-style long runs. Independent zone control with global and per-zone triggering lets each area run its own source through the zone line input, or follow a shared bus feed through Bus In 1 and Bus In 2. Signal auto-sensing powers the amplifier up when audio is detected and down when it stops, reducing standby consumption in always-on installations. Protection circuitry guards against thermal overload and short circuits. The slim 2U chassis is rack mountable with hardware included, runs cool thanks to Class D efficiency, and provides individual output level controls plus detachable speaker terminals accepting up to 14AWG.
Eight channels arranged as four stereo zones deliver 50W RMS per channel at 8 ohms and 80W RMS per channel at 4 ohms, with 160W maximum per channel. Each zone operates independently with its own level control, so background music, paging and entertainment can run in different areas from one chassis.
A bridge switch on each zone internally combines both channels into a single connection using the left input, producing up to 320W maximum at 8 ohms. This gives flexibility for larger rooms, longer speaker runs or higher-demand areas without adding a second amplifier to the rack.
Each zone provides a line input plus Bus In 1 and Bus In 2 with pass-through outputs, so zones can share a common source or run separate ones. Paired with an audio distribution preamp or matrix processor, each zone independently selects among several sources through its own line input.
Signal auto-sensing powers the amplifier up when audio is detected and shuts it down when the signal stops, cutting idle draw in always-on installations. A bus global 12V trigger plus per-zone triggering allows integration with control systems that need coordinated or independent zone startup.
The 16.81 by 3.46 by 16.41 inch chassis mounts in a standard rack with included hardware and runs cool on efficient Class D amplification.
