The Black Series BK-SAM300 is a mono Class A/B subwoofer amplifier that supplies up to 300W to passive subwoofers, including in-wall models that require external power. Output is rated at 230W RMS and 460W peak into 4 ohms, or 156W RMS and 310W peak into 8 ohms, providing stable power for low-frequency effects in home theater systems. Unlike Class D designs, the Class A/B output stage delivers solid, well-defined bass with a natural character many listeners prefer for music. Low-level, high-level and LFE inputs cover every source type, and manual, auto or triggered on/off modes allow integration into automated systems. Selectable bass boost adds up to 12dB of gain between 25Hz and 50Hz to reinforce the bottom octave. Adjustable phase, gain and crossover controls with a 35Hz to 160Hz variable crossover and 40Hz to 180Hz low-pass adjustment let you tune output to the room. Pop-out adjustment knobs keep settings from being disturbed. The heavy-duty steel chassis carries a brushed aluminum faceplate.
A mono Class A/B output stage delivers 230W RMS and 460W peak into 4 ohms, or 156W RMS and 310W peak into 8 ohms. The Class A/B topology produces solid, well-defined low-frequency output with a natural character that many listeners prefer over switching designs for music-focused systems.
Bass boost adds up to 12dB of gain at a selectable point between 25Hz and 50Hz, reinforcing the bottom octave where many rooms and subwoofers lose output. This recovers the deep extension that gives movie soundtracks physical impact without turning up the overall subwoofer level.
Three input types cover every source: low-level RCA for modern pre-amplified sources, high-level speaker connections for receivers without a subwoofer output, and a dedicated LFE input for AV receivers with a discrete low-frequency effects channel. One amplifier fits new and legacy systems alike.
Variable crossover from 35Hz to 160Hz, low-pass adjustment from 40Hz to 180Hz and phase control from 0 to 180 degrees let you match the subwoofer to the main speakers and the room. Pop-out adjustment knobs recess into the panel so settings are not disturbed once dialed in.
A heavy-duty steel chassis with brushed aluminum faceplate measures 17.25 by 3.75 by 13.88 inches and weighs 16 pounds. Manual, auto and triggered on/off modes suit automated systems, standby draw stays under 1 watt, and the input voltage switches between 120V and 240V. 2-year warranty.
