The SMP500DSP is a Class D mono subwoofer amplifier built for higher-wattage passive subwoofers such as in-wall models that require external power. It delivers 400W RMS and 800W peak at 4 ohms, or 250W RMS and 500W peak at 8 ohms, in a rack-mountable 1U chassis. A front-panel variable high-cut filter adjusts from 30Hz to 150Hz, routing higher frequencies to the main speakers so the subwoofer concentrates on low-frequency content. Additional front-panel controls cover phase and volume, and the amplifier includes an adjustable gain and volume limiter to protect woofers from overdrive. Turn-on options include music sensing, manual on or 12V trigger. Input choices cover signal-level and speaker-level connections plus LFE, with speaker pass-through outputs for older and newer systems alike. Frequency response spans 10Hz to 150Hz with a 95dB signal-to-noise ratio and air cooling. The power supply is switchable between 115V and 230V. ETL and CE rated with a 2-year warranty.
