If you’re heavily invested in pencil-based workflows on your iPad, I’d strongly recommend the Paperlike 2.1. It effectively bridges the gap between digital and analog, giving you that satisfying “paper-on-pen” feel while retaining all the advantages of the iPad. The trade-offs (a bit of tip wear, slightly less glass-smooth surface, careful install) are reasonable compared to the major benefit of improved control and comfort for long writing or drawing sessions. If instead you use your iPad mostly for media consumption, web surfing or casual tasks, you might find the difference less compelling and could consider a lower-cost standard or matte screen protector. ⸻ Bottom line: For serious pencil users, the Paperlike 2.1 is an excellent premium accessory that genuinely elevates the writing/drawing experience. Overall the protector does what it says on the box, the product quality is great and the texture is comforting. There is a reason that the video application guide advises you to be calm beforehand, the multi-sticker process could be properly explained beforehand (for instance I didn't know I first had to constructing a hinge out of sticker) and the unnecessary multiple re-placing of the previous stickers at several stages ended up delaying the final application so long the screen itself got tacky, dust stuck and I had to abort the effort. I had originally only expected a single protector and was paying more than I usually would for a 1-pack but I really wanted the paper feel. I was very happily surprised to find a second screen protector in the box, and now feeling like a grizzled, battle-hardened veteran from the first application, the process was much easier and I am happy with the final outcome!
