For the last couple of years I've wanted to use a smart fixture on my front porch. Finally Philips has released their outdoor lights. I had to order one immediately. First impression, it is bigger than I thought it would be. About a 10" cube or so. Much bigger than my previously installed light. But that is fine, kind of what I wanted anyway. It is surprisingly light for its size. That makes installing it a bit easier. I won't dwell on installation. Pretty straight forward as most every other outdoor light. You get a mounting bracket that attaches to the box. No wire nuts included. (Why?) Three connections, line up the mounting studs and tighten cap nuts. Took me less that 30 minutes for the whole operation. Once it is up it looks really good. Very plain features which I like. No shaped glass, no patterns on the frame and no weird baubles hanging off it. Just sleek, almost Scandinavian, simplicity. Love it. Why four stars? Well, first off the fixture is nothing to note. You could purchase something similar at any DIY store. Matter of fact for the same amount you can get one with a motion sensor. Despite the clean design their selling you a smart light with a regular fixture. The bulb is the smart part. Standard Philips Hue A19 white dimmable bulb. Not even the white ambiance bulb. I guess I really don't care about it that much, but I was expecting this to be a WOW purchase and it is not. I think it is a fair deal though, overall. I mean a good looking outdoor fixture itself will usually run you $50-$70. The bulb itself is $15 so it does save you a bit. I was just hoping had more to it. Still it is nice to be able to set routines for the porch light. I like it turning itself on sunset and then off a 10. I'd say it is worth it.

I love Hue Lights but this had really bad instructions on how to install. I'm not very handy but I can learn and have done lots of things in my house with watching or reading how to do it. The instructions were hard to follow since it's only pictures and no words to explain what to do. If you know how to install light fixtures, then you are fine. If this is your first time, like it was for me, it's a bit more frustrating. I had to watch YouTube videos and read about certain situations. Like the fixture and the house each had a ground wire, the picture was confusing of what it was trying to tell you. I understood after reading about splicing wires. Also, you would need to have wire connectors that this does not provide. Once it was installed, I love it. I switched out the original bulb and place in a Hue Color Bulb and no it looks even better. Good luck. I do need a second one now.

Really glad I purchased this porch light for my house as it does the job especially where I installed it which is on the side of the house. The light is very bright which is ideal to discourage the wrong type of people from trying to gain access to the backyard gate. I have indoor lights that are Phillips so adding this light to the hub was simple and creating a dusk to dawn schedule was even easier. The brightness adjustment feature is really nice however I don't use it to often. Phillips you did it again making this outdoor lantern easy from start to finish.

It took FOREVER to get these babies. I have Hue bridges and lights in every room, so why not attack front and rear outside. Double check the dimensions first. These are some of the largest outfoor lights you can purchase. I mean HUGE. I did not check the donensions because I never expected the light to be so large. So big in fact, I bought 3 and they came in 3 different boxes because they werw so big. I gave them a 4 because size was my fault. I should have checked. I am sure thwy are like all of the other HUE products and work well though. PS: If your placement is covered and not in direct way of rain, just use HUE bulbs in your existing units. Mine work great. So far, so good.

Nice addition to the front of our house. Easy installation & hook up to existing Hue set up. Much cheaper than the colour version!

I bought 4 of these to replace all outside lights. This was easy enough to install, just basic two wires and a mounting bracket. All hue functions are managed by the bulb so the fixture is nothing more than a certified holder for your hue stuff. The bulb is the cheapest $15 hue white bulb. The picture of the bulb on the box looks like the flat bulb but you actually get the round bulb. Hue app recognizes the bulb as a hue outdoor bulb but it looks no different than the std hue white bulb. Problem I had was the round bulb only allows for dimming so I replaced the bulb with the color bulb with no issues. The bulb is surround by a solid plastic case with the top being a metal lid that unscrews to screw in the bulb. The bulb is sealed completely from the outside, so I imagine you need to make sure to never use a standard A19 bulb that could build up heat. I setup the sunset to sunrise option in hue labs and everything works flawlessly. You get a lot of light coming out of these fixtures for only 800 lum bulbs.

First off the light housing is pretty nice and looks really good hung up. I thought the light fixture itself was somehow the "SMART" part of it all but it is not, comes with a smart bulb. All in all it is a nice setup and no disappointments here. For the price ya cant go wrong.

Easy to install, provides all you need including bulb. Just remember to take proper precautions if connecting to aluminum wiring.

I already had several Philips Hue bulbs in the house. So I was excited to see the outdoor line. Overall pretty happy with it. The bulb is a regular Hue white light. The fixture itself does not have any smart features.

Phillips hue has been coming out with solutions for all types of lighting needs. Although this is very expensive when all you need really is the light bulb, it's a nice product.

Work great and I love how it’s configured to turn on as soon as I pull into the driveway. I also like how it has a dimmable feature.

This porch light is excellent, it allows you to preset it to come on at sunset and turn off at sunrise or any time you wish or command. Easy to install

Was glad to be able to get this lamp, was not available near my BestBuy, for the longest time, glad to say it was worth the wait!

Wanted a new porch light. This makes mine sit a bit higher. My fault, not the product. It works with Hue hub and HomeKit.

I really like Hue products and have quite few in my home. I was glad to see an outdoor line, however this light is very big, much too big for where I needed it. Partly my fault for not paying close enough attention to the dimensions. I would still recommend only if you have space for it. Had to return.

Very good for additional lighting around your homes walkways.

Good product, getting the job done. Just know that the install is free if you are Total Tech, but apparently you have to add that to the cart when you purchase or they'll charge you $119 when you try to get it done after purchase.

Easy to program and install. It connects to the standard round electrical box. It comes with a white outdoor bulb and a mounting bracket and wire nuts. The light is completely enclosed around the bulb. I use it with the outdoor sensor to trigger the light on if someone arrives at my front door for safety.
