'Undermind', Phish's eleventh full-length studio album is now available on vinyl for the first time in a 2-LP set on JEMP Records. 'Undermind' was recorded at The Barn in Vermont by producer Tchad Blake with Pete Carini in February 2004 and mixed by Tchad in England at Real World Studios in March 2004. Additional recording spanning 2002-2004 was used for InchScents And Subtle Sounds (Intro)Inch, InchGrindInch, Inchand InchUndermindInch with Ray Paczkowski doubling on Fender Rhodes for the title track. The majority of songs were written by Trey Anastasio and Tom Marshall, along with Scott Herman on InchScents And Subtle SoundsInch and InchUndermindInch. Page McConnell contributed InchArmy Of OneInch, Mike Gordon InchAccess MeInch, and Jon Fishman InchTomorrow's SongInch. The instrumentals InchMaggie's RevengeInch and internet/vinyl bonus InchTinyInch were excerpted from a full-band improvised 47-minute studio jam dubbed InchHeadphones JamInch. InchSecret SmileInch included an eleven-piece string section arranged by Maria Schneider. The single InchThe ConnectionInch remains in occasional live rotation along with most of the album. Overall 'Undermind' is rich and evocative, with themes reflecting two decades of shared band experience. 'Undermind' was Phish's last album on Elektra Records, with the band ultimately founding their own JEMP records in 2005. 'Undermind' was originally mastered for CD by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering and released by Elektra on June 15, 2004.
