R.E.M. —InchCollapse Into NowInch Concord Records; 2011’s Collapse Into Now marks the fifteenth—and final—studio album from R.E.M.. Intentionally (but not publically) planned by the group to be their last work together, Collapse Into Now lyrically hints at R.E.M.’s disbanding, and was popularly considered to be a return to the “classic” R.E.M. sound. Recorded in four different cities Berlin, New Orleans, Nashville and Portland Oregon, Collapse features guest appearances by Patti Smith and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.
