Robert Scherman had a very interesting career as a record producer during the 1940s, 1950's and 1960's. This explores some of his lesser known efforts. Most of these recordings are intended for cross-over marketing. They seem to feature R&B type rhythm (or rockabilly), vocal group backing, and a tenor sax break or guitar break. The feel is decidedly reminiscent of King/Federal, for whom Robert Scherman produced many successful sessions.
