S/850 12” driver features extremely long throw and its 3” voice coil handles massive power. It actually is more efficient because we use a pure carbon fiber center cap that reduces moving mass by a solid 10 grams. Lighter, faster and more powerful, this delivers the high amplitude output needed for power theater and for pairing with high end speakers in a 2-channel system. Rich, creamy and powerful, S/850 exceeds expectations.
REL’s designers start with a deep understanding of room acoustics and build outward from there. That’s why all Serie S deliver deep bass in a minimum of two planes; S/850’s forward firing lightweight 12” cone delivers attack and slam while the downfiring 12” passive produces the deepest bass that ripples along the floor. By working with the room rather than fighting it by using DSP (Digital Signal Processing) REL’s S/850 delivers an effortless, organic quality to even the deepest bass.

That’s why our design team whipped up the Airship Direct, named because this ultra-high performance wireless system plugs directly into a rear-mounted dedicated locks in place to avoid rattling. Absolutely ZERO compression port that for us with dedicated DAC and ADC chips and separate power supplies for digital and analog circuitry within.
