Hi, Grip - Yes, the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen) requires an internet connection to function properly. While it doesn't rely on Wi-Fi for power, it does need a stable internet connection to stream live video, send alerts, and allow two-way communication through the Ring app. Without an internet connection, the doorbell would function like a traditional wired doorbell — it would ring when pressed, but you wouldn't be able to access video feeds or receive notifications. For optimal performance, Ring recommends a minimum upload speed of 15 Mbps, especially for 4K devices. This ensures smooth video streaming and reliable alerts

Hi Sam. That's a great question. Great news, your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro comes with a Chime Kit Mini included in the box. The Chime Kit Mini connects to your existing doorbell wiring and provides an audible alert inside your home whenever someone presses your doorbell, even if you do not have an existing chime installed. To install the Chime Kit Mini, follow these steps: Turn off the power to your doorbell at the breaker. Locate the area where you would like to install the Chime Kit Mini. It should be installed indoors near a power source. Connect the two low-voltage wires from your doorbell wiring to the terminals on the Chime Kit Mini. Restore power at the breaker. Open the Ring app and follow the in-app setup instructions to pair the Chime Kit Mini with your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro. Once installed, the Chime Kit Mini will sound an alert tone inside your home whenever a visitor presses your doorbell. If you would like a louder alert or want to hear notifications in multiple rooms, Ring also offers the Ring Chime and Ring Chime Pro as additional accessories. The Ring Chime is a plug-in device that connects to your wifi network and provides customizable alert tones. Simply plug it into any standard outlet and pair it through the Ring app. The Ring Chime Pro also doubles as a wifi extender to help strengthen the connection to your Ring devices.
