Staying true to Da Vinci's design, the ROKR Ornithopter features flapping wings and a representation of a twin-cylinder engine housed beneath a transparent cover. As the pistons pump in alternating rhythm, it drives the crankshaft and flaps the wings. Below it stands a tower structure that houses the main engine, feeds steam up to the Ornithopter, lights up the dark with its own glowing beacon, and provides ladder access so the mechanism can be maintained at height. An anemometer-inspired rotor tracks wind speed and direction, monitoring conditions before flight.
