Three CD set containing tracks taken from three labels MCA, Warner Brothers and Epic Records. A must for all Funk and Soul fans, capturing all of the greatest hits in one collection. A '70s music night without Rose Royce would be unthinkable. In soul music terms, it would be like the '60s without The Temptations, or the '80s without The Gap Band. That's because the Los Angeles group played an important role in spreading Disco-Funk. Rose Royce's music defined by it's blend of funky grooves and soft romantic ballads, was part of the soundtrack to those heady days, when the whole world seemed to be a big disco ball dancing through space. This Rose Royce 'Definitive Collection' includes all the extended versions of the biggest hits including the ballads 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore', 'Wishing On A Star', 'I Wanna Get Next To You' and the Funk anthems 'Car Wash', 'It Makes You Feel Like Dancin', 'Is It Love You're After' and 'Do Your Dance'. Also included is the full 12-minute version of 'RR Express'. Producer Norman Whitfield, known for his work with The Temptations and The Undisputed Truth was the brainchild behind Rose Royce, and signed them to his Whitfield Records tag, which was backed by Warner Brothers. He produced the majority of the tracks in this package, and you can feel his influence in these recordings. Album Tracks 1. Car Wash - Long 2. Version / from InchCar WashInch 3. Though Michael Jackson's Thriller lays claim to mind-boggling statistics - for starters, it netted a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards and sold upwards of 70 million copies globally - that serve as reminders of how pervasive and indispensable it remains to music snobs and casual listeners alike, it's essence always traces back to the greatness, power, and scope of the songs. Now, as it celebrates it's 40th anniversary, the blockbuster that reconceptualized music via a genre- and color-blind blend of fleet pop, funk, disco, soul, and rock sent up with cinematic panache and dynamic energy; united audiences; made strides towards achieving racial equality; and taught the world how to dance sounds even more invigorating than it did during the advent of the Walkman.Mastered from the original analog master tapes, pressed at RTI, housed in a slipcase, and strictly limited to 40,000 numbered copies, Mobile Fidelity's UltraDisc One-Step 180g 33RPM LP set does for Thriller what Jackson's unforgettable appearance on the 'Motown 25' TV special in 1983 did for his career It makes the music personal, human, desirable, relatable, imaginative - the definition of cool. This extraordinary reissue does so by presenting the songs in lifelike fashion, zeroing in on the fundamentals with laser focus, and magnifying the brilliance of the production, arrangements, and vo
