Great resolution. Colors are bright and vibrant. HDR is good. And it’s aesthetically pleasing.

Went with this model over others with same spec for the build quality, and it's solid. I do see the back of my monitor frequently so that's a nice bonus. The display's matte coating is very subtle - coming from a strong matte coating user. Navigating OSD is easy enough and the color options are good. No KVM or USB C.

I recently bought this Samsung G8 G81SF gaming Monitor. And the Monitor's 5 way rocker button cracked and broke in less than a month under normal use. When I reached out to Samsung Warranty they outright refused to help. After a while they started ghosting me and stopped replying. While the monitor itself is beautiful it's currently useless without a working button! Extremely poor quality control on Samsung's end. The worst customer service I've ever received.

This monitor is absolutely stunning. Coming from a 1920x1080 LED monitor to this shocking 4k OLED monster is something I’ll always remember. This is the biggest jump anyone can make within their setup. Go big or go home, and this takes it even farther.

Bought as a open box, not damaged or missing anything Amazing display, deep blavks and vibrant colors compared to another 4k monitor. Definitely recommend when on sale.

I recently purchased the Samsung 27" Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) 4K UHD Gaming Monitor from Best Buy, and I wanted to share my thoughts. In short, this is an absolutely phenomenal monitor, truly top-tier in almost every regard. From the moment I unboxed it, the design of the silver Odyssey OLED G8 impressed me. It's sleek, modern, and feels incredibly premium. Setting it up was straightforward, and it immediately connected to my M4 MacBook Pro without any issues. The 4K UHD resolution on a 27-inch display meant everything was incredibly sharp, and the OLED panel delivered truly stunning visuals. Blacks were inky deep, colors popped with vibrancy, and the contrast was simply breathtaking. As a gaming monitor, its specifications speak for themselves: 240Hz refresh rate, an astonishing 0.03ms response time, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and HDR 400. While I primarily used it for productivity and creative work with my MacBook Pro, the smoothness and responsiveness were palpable even in everyday tasks. Text was crisp, scrolling was fluid, and any multimedia content looked fantastic. The "Glare Free" aspect was also a huge plus, making it comfortable to use in various lighting conditions. However, despite its many strengths, I ultimately decided to return the monitor. It wasn't due to any fault of the monitor itself – it performed flawlessly. The reality was that it was simply too much monitor for my specific needs. My usage primarily revolved around work and general computing on my M4 MacBook Pro, and the advanced gaming features and extreme performance of the Odyssey OLED G8 were overkill. I found myself paying for capabilities I wasn't fully utilizing on a daily basis. So, while I can wholeheartedly recommend the Samsung 27" Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) to anyone looking for a bleeding-edge gaming monitor or a top-tier display for demanding creative tasks, it was just more power than my setup required. I ended up downgrading to a monitor that better suited my more moderate needs, but I left feeling incredibly impressed by what Samsung has created here. If you're in the market for an elite display, this one should definitely be on your shortlist.

Definitely noticed a HUGE jump in quality when I updated from a standard monitor. The colors are fresher, deeper and more vibrant. The monitor has an overall premium feel to it because of its metal frame and matte screen. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an OLED monitor!

The guy leaving a review for this at 2 stars is an absolute clown for not doing three seconds of research byb not looking at the specs directly below the listing. If you're spending the money you are on a monitor like this, you almost undoubtedly already have headphones ready to go, or will not soon after. The picture quality is phenomenal as advertised, framerate is stable, and the settings are descriptive and easy to navigate. The fact that is comes with such a crisp, clear, lagless PiP mode as well is insane! I was able to semi-afk BTD6 while playing mario kart on the mini screen in the top corner of the monitor :D The fact that it all works without needing additional software is a huge convenience too (looking at you, Razer >~>) I'm absolutely in love with it, I just need to build a PC that's capable of using this thing to its maximum potential!

Excellent color, 4k is beautiful, only buy if you have a rig that is capable of handling such a beautiful piece of technology. I play a variety of games on my AMD 9700X3D & 5070ti combination. Using DLSS and "performance" makes this a 4k picture with 200+ FPS on most games that looks too good sometimes you get lost in the details. 10/10

I purchased two 27" Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 monitors and have been very impressed with the image quality and overall performance. Unfortunately, one of the units experienced a failure of the rear selector control after roughly two months of normal, careful use. This control is the primary and required interface for navigating menus and powering the monitor. When it failed, the monitor became effectively unusable. For a premium product at this price point, I would expect that a frequently used physical control would be more durable. In addition, both monitors have exhibited intermittent flickering when connected via DisplayPort. I’ve been able to reduce this by switching to HDMI, but it’s worth noting since DisplayPort is commonly used for high-refresh PC setups and the behavior appears on both units. What has been most disappointing is not the possibility of repair, but the service experience. Samsung classified the control failure as physical damage and declined warranty coverage, offering only a mail-in repair after escalation. For a primary display, being without the monitor for an extended period is a significant inconvenience, and no replacement or cross-ship option was offered. I’m sharing this so potential buyers understand both the strengths of the panel itself and the risks if issues arise. The display quality is excellent, but the durability of the controls and the support process may not align with expectations for a high-end monitor.

Quality is top tier. Colors and sharpness are next level. All my games look smooth and are very responsive. 10/10 definitely recommend!

I'm still using an older Odyssey G7 28". I've tried several OLED monitors and most don't work with my eyes, but WOLED is a little bit better. I tried this OLED G8 and was shocked that it received such high reviews. The "grain" over the entire screen from the coating was unbelievable. It's like looking at a sandy image and I don't sit very close to my monitors. I either had a bad panel (which I doubt) or the people giving this such high reviews aren't aware of the quality of other OLED monitors with regards to clarity and screen coatings. My G7 IPS technically has a coating on it as well, however it is nearly crystal clear in comparison. This G8 left my jaw on the floor. Build quality/design are excellent. I have seen a lot of screen coatings and have not come across one this ridiculous.

If you're looking for a crisp, high-quality 4K display that brings vibrant colors and detailed visuals, Samsung's 4K monitor is definitely worth considering. Whether you're a content creator, gamer, or someone who just loves a high-res display, this monitor checks a lot of boxes.

Works better than expected. Only gripe is that the speakers don’t work even though they advertised working speakers.

this is the best gaming monitor Ive purchased by far. Definitely better than my acer monitor. Gives off vibrant colors and visuals and i think is the best bang for buck you can get right now. I also love that the monitor has an RGB light at the back WHICH you can customize which is really cool. DEFINITELY BUY, they shipped it over to my house and the packaging was secure! 10/10

This is the best monitor i've owned. The color is fantastic and the 4k makes everything very clear. I can't recommend this enough.
