A: The TV is 48 inches wide the posts are 6 inches in from both sides which get you to 36 inches. However the feet angle out from the back to the front. so the front of the feet wind up being 42 inches apart. Hope that helps.
Q: Do I have to get a sound system to hear this TV?
A: Satisfaction with sound is a subjective thing. Compared to other brands of TVs in its price range I feel this is very good sound. To expect it to compete with a sound bar that costs as much as this TV or a receiver/speaker combo that costs twice the price of this TV is not realistic.
A: The refresh rate is 60 Hz. Samsung's "Motion Rate" is on a different scale. I bought this TV and I noticed that their advertised "120 Hz Motion Rate" was definitely not 120 Hz refresh rate. I did a quick google search and several people have noticed the same thing about Samsung TVs. Samsung's "120 Hz Motion Rate" is converted to only 60 Hz refresh rate. It's a cheap TV and okay quality for $400 + tax, but I feel like you can pay $100 more to get a nicer looking TV this Black Friday.

A: I decided to have my on the tv stand instead. The tv has holes in the back for wall mounting.
