I really liked this phone but just three months later it's already malfunctioning. The inner screen intermittently won't turn on. I took it into service but a tiny imperfection on the hinge (see picture) voided my warranty according to the repair shop. This phone has only had normal use, no major drops. It would cost $350 pre-tax to fix the screen. Given the hinge is naturally a weak point, I don't trust that it won't break again in three months so I've decided to buy a different phone instead. It's too bad because it's a really nice concept.

This phone hit all the boxes for me; excellent display, compact, fast. One month in of regular use though, and the screen bend is now flickering and causing the bottom half of the main display to flash. No cracks on the glass, dents, or missing (pre-installed) screen protector. I'm out of my return window now so unfortunately its a repair or replace for me, but HUGE buyer beware here. This phone is simply not worth it this generation or probably even the next. The screen is simply not protected from its own main feature. I requested a warranty repair from Samsung and they're offering a DISCOUNTED repair. That's right, you're still on the hook for THEIR engineering issues.

I loved this phone, up until two days ago. It's now completely unusable after only a few months of normal daily use. Samsung seem to have fixed the issue of the screen physically tearing, but now there's a fun new issue where the screen glitches, goes black, and will no longer light up. Rear screen is still fine. Samsung says this is an "out of warranty" issue. Numerous people have been experiencing this these last couple months. I cannot in good conscience give more than one star to a $1k phone that didn't even make it four months.

Bought this phone in early December, 2024. The phone worked great for 11 months, then the charging port failed. That was replaced under warranty at uBreakiFix, but it still wouldn't charge via port; they said it was a software problem. Then, less than a week later, the phone froze, the main screen would not respond. I had to send the phone to Samsung repair in Texas. They fixed it under the 12-month warranty, but I had no phone for over a week, and since it has an esim, I didn't have access to my phone number, which was a nightmare. I acquired a Moto G 2025 as a backup phone, which worked great. I have been a Samsung customer for decades (x495 flip, S5, S10), but the Z flip has a design flaw that allows dust to enter through the hinge and freeze the main screen. The whole experience with my Z Flip6 has been so unpleasant, my next primary phone, if I stick with a flip, will probably be a Motorola Razr.

Best Buy tricked me with the $250 gift card ad when buying the Flip 6 I ordered this phone on 8/6 and was supposed to get an egift card of $250. 3 days went by and I didn't receive any emails so I reached out. They told me to call the support since the egift card was put on hold for some reasons. Fine, I called them and they told me that they were not able to process the egift card and would replace it with a physical one and I would receive it 7-10 business days (that was 8/10). So I was supposed to receive the gift card maximum on 8/23. Guess what? I did not receive it. Contacted them again (3rd time) and they kept tranferring me around and after 1 hour, they told me that it would take maximum of 15 business days and they had to request another department to send me updates. It is already a joke at this point. So, I waited another 5 business days and NOTHING happened. I reached out again on 8/30 (4th time), and they confirmed that the physical gift card was canceled. This time, they offered me 12500 points so I can convert it to $250 reward, and I would see the points in my account after 48h. I waited and NOTHING happened. So I contacted them again on 9/4 (5th time - 1 month after the purchase). I wanted to return the phone for full refund but they wouldn't let me since it was out of return window. Then they offered to refund $250 back into my account and I would receive an confirmation email. I have not received any email regarding this refund confirmation . And, through all of this, Best Buy never reachs out to me with any updates, and only when I contact them, they would act like they try to resolve the problems but in fact, NOTHING happens.

I will say i kinda liked this phone. It did everything it needed to. But not 10 months in, and i do take care of my things. The main screen went black and stopped working. The cover screen still works but i cannot do anything important on the phone so i had to replace my phone. i paid alot for this phone for the screen to completely go out. I also hate the radiation this phone puts off. I hate that i work in the medical field and this phone could malfunction a heart monitor, so i had to leave at my desk and not carry around my patients.

This review is a warning to anyone considering the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. For a year, the phone was fine. Then, the nightmare began: the main folding screen started bleeding color and flashing erratically. It is now completely unusable, a state no premium smartphone should reach after just 12 months. The real issue is Samsung's terrible customer support and cynical warranty practices. I expected the warranty to cover a catastrophic screen failure on a folding phone, but I was wrong. Samsung found a minor, unrelated scuff on the back of the phone and used it as an excuse to declare the warranty VOID. My reward for spending a significant amount of money on their product was a $500 repair quote. This is not customer service; it's a punitive policy that shifts the blame for a clear product defect onto the consumer. I am utterly disappointed in Samsung's craftsmanship, their warranty integrity, and their willingness to let a customer who paid a premium price be left with a broken, expensive brick. My money was wasted on this product. Buyer beware.

They shipped me an empty box. Notified them immediately and shipped the empty box back to them that same day. Promised refund in 7-10 business days from receipt. It's been 13 business days and I'm now being told I have to wait another 7-10 business days from the refund approval to actually get the refund. Never again will I do business with Best Buy and customer service is a nightmare of nothing but low level workers reading from scripts.

Bought this phone and within a few weeks the screen stopped working on it and had to call samsung to get help. Fortunately the phone had warranty so i sent the phone i to Samsung for them to check it out and they fixed it for free. Took about 3 weeks for them to fix it and ship it back but has worked fine since.

My phone is barely 2months old, never been dropped. Main/internal screen becomes unresponsive and now it went black and unable to use it anymore. Mini screen is still working. There's no Physical damage to my phone and was working fine except it get heated sometimes, for example when hotspot function is activated.

Buyer Beware. I have the Samsung Flip 6, I thought for easy carry. I am not a happy customer now. I've had it under 1 year and the screen went black and unuseable. There were no drops or cracked screen. I woke up to an unuseable black screen. I had to pay $600 to replace the screen. I had reviewed youtube on tapping places if wire was loose. The screen has many wires and things on it. Its much more involved than normal screen. Buyer Beware. This was a good idea to fold phone but not ready for sale. Never again.

Junk Internal screen went blank after 7 months - Samsung says there is damage to the internal screen, but I can't see any. The local rep tried to tell me that there were scratches on the outside case and that was physical damage. Guess what if you have your phone in your pocket with your keys it will get scratched. The inside screen doesn't get touched, yet that is what goes wrong with these pieces of junk. My iPhone has the same scratches, yet works perfectly. Guess I need to go back to Apple products.

I give the phone & Best Buy 1 star, but only because there is no option for 0 stars. The phone has had major glitches since day one. And Best Buy unfortunately does not honor the products they sell. They tell me I have to return it to a Samsung store, the closest one being over an hour away. Of course I did not purchase the phone from Samsung, I purchased it from Best Buy along with literally thousands of dollars of merchandise over the years (TV's, washer/dryer, laptop, etc). Never again, I will cheer when I hear the news that they have finally gone under, it will be a well deserved collapse.

There is a defect at the hinge that will cripple the internal display, go completely black and this happened approx. 5 months after purchase. When it was sent in to Samsung for repair, the stated it was damaged and not covered under warranty. I searched online and there were multiple reports of the same defect explaining you can press the display screen at a certain spot and it will help.
