Good as a Gaming Drive

I got this to install some of my Steam games to because my internal SSD was getting full. So far I've been able to play them off this drive when attached with USB-C with no lag, stutter, or hiccups.
I would recommend this to a friend

This is a refurbished drive. I knew that in advance. The reason ït did not receive 5 stars is the drive initially was unusable in the condition it arrived in. Plain English: It Did Not Work! I had to drive to the nearest Best Buy, an hour away, where Geek Squad had to "initialize" the drive. There were NO instructions about this in the manual that came with tbe drive. Once that was done tug he drive has worked flawlessly.
I would recommend this to a friend

Fantastic SSD

I was a little scared that I received a dud device, but after some fiddling, I realized I just needed to format the ssd with my pc, and it was as good as new. I use it as an external ssd for my Xbox series x and it works like a charm. Transfers 100+gb games in 20 minutes. Way faster than uninstalling to save space, and then redownloading when I want to play again. For the price 4TB is a steal for an SSD.

The actual device looks fine. The box it came in, while original, had some crushed corners and other damage. When connected, I ran Samsung's Magician software and was surprised to see that about 6 terabytes of data had previously been written to the drive, although it had been wiped and restored to factory installation. I had previously purchased a new T7 4TB and was happy with it. I though saving $20 would get me something in a damaged box. Not sure if the price difference is worth it.

Gr8 deal since refurbished has warranty at lower $

I didn't even need this much storage, but at the price it cost less than a new storage device that wasn't refurbished. Since the warranty is the same on refurbished, it seemed like a great purchase.

I think this drive wasn't "refurbished" very well to begin with. It was flakey about the connection from the start. Unfortunately it is now not recognizable on either my Apple devices or my PC. This seems to be a know issue with this drive. Buy something else.
